Parking Ticket

Hello,
We have received a parking fine this weekend as my husband entered the wrong number (his number plate not mine). We have appealed and been honest that it was our mistake, it has of course been rejected.
We were on private land (bradgate park, leicester), parking company is Spring Parking.
I realise we are at fault here, however it does feel really unfair as it was an honest mistake and we did pay our money and display our ticket properly.
The fine is £95 (£55 early), it feels disproportionate and also if we had taken the ticket of someone with the same number plate number then it doesn't actually stop the behaviour of people transferring tickets.
If we appeal and it is rejected we have to pay the full amount and debt collectors fees as well supposedly. I feel like the fighting it maybe isn't worth the risk.
What would you do?

Many judges regard these wrong VRNs as a trifle, a waste of court time, read this

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
