Just caught back up. Glad your holiday went well and you came back with money - impressive. Have a good weekend. I try meal plans from time to time - currently wondering about re-starting.

  • Hey savinghomes :)
Went shopping yesterday and spent a bit more than I thought, but...........it's all good, new weeks budget starts tomorrow and there will be approx £50 left for the week.
Lots of cleaning again today but not a lot of money saving, made a curry for tea tonight SW friendly and DH had it as well :)
Have done lots of washing and drying, it's raining heavily now but tomorrow is meant to be a better day. We are going out for a walk and if it's raining we are going to sit in the car with a picnic :)
Weight loss 6lb/16lb 10lb to go
I spend an insane amount of time wondering if I am doing it right, sometimes I remind myself that I am doing my best....and that is enough
  • Had a lovely walk with DH on Sunday it was warm and dry, enjoyed our picnic in the car also.
Housework up todate and have devised a new cunning plan :) although I clean each day I will give each room a thorough spring clean on a rota as well. Can't say I have stuck to this though, I am trying....
Been out today for lunch with a friend, kept it cheap, she bought me a cuppa which was lovely of her will be my turn next time and I spent £5.75 on my lunch, well worth it for such a lovely few hours.
Have come home and found out the packaged bank account I claimed for has paid up, apparently the case handler found that we had been lied to and refunded the lot plus interest approximately £2500, overjoyed is not the word :):):) At the moment I am enjoying looking at it in our account and don't know what to do with it, obviously I wont spend it but which debt to pay off. I do need to make sure our income has improved first but what a fab safety net, phew sigh of relief....
Shopping budget is doing fine this week currently have £19.78 to last until Sunday when it starts again on Monday, it's easier I think if I start on a Monday. Plenty of food in the freezer. Lots of new ready cooked chicken portions which were cheaper than buying uncooked frozen portions, cooking them and ending up with tiny shrunk pieces, at least these are what you see you get. Each one has been individually frozen and then put in a bag.
Have frozen lots of bacon, rolled each piece up and individually froze them and then transferred them to a bag, easier if I want to make a quiche or a quick sarnie, rather than defrosting the whole pack.
More bread made, sliced and frozen. Need to make rolls as they are running low.
Diet is going well have lost 3lb this week I think, no wait actually 4lb but was stuck for a while since holiday. I am now lighter than when I was 16 so a max of another 5lb and that will be it, just maintenance then. I have to say I am feeling so much better and have much more energy since I started doing the slimming world diet, its healthy and fills me up, works for me :)
I have no gardening to do at the moment, just lawns to be cut and that is only weather permitting. I have a few plants that are in the greenhouse and will winter over in there and seeds I will sew as the year goes by, first ones are Sweet Peas and I can do them now, but haven't got around to it.
Horses are all in at night and out by day, rugged 24/7 now. They are well adjusted to their new routine and seem happy :)
Doggies are all ok also, puppy is very, very cheeky and the others are being so tolerant of her just putting up with her :)
DD is staying for tea tonight and I have no idea what to do and it was meant to be sausage and mash for DH sausages are already cooked, but DD does not like sausage so I think it will be steak pie, peas and chips and victoria sponge cake or brownies both of which are already made for afters. Maybe with custard.
I have started knitting again, £3.99 on some lovely grey aran wool which will make a pair of socks for a stocking filler, or two pairs if I am lucky.
I would love to post on some more diaries or threads as they are amazing, but honestly I am lucky to be able to get on her to keep focused and things will only get busier, some of the threads are so amazing, my favourite one I lurk on is the frump to fab (i think thats what it is called) really inspirational :)
Rooms are now ready just waiting for an extension lead so the bedside light works and that's it, ready to go, probably wont be much happening until next spring/summer but you never know might be a few weekends booked over the winter.
DH and DS are in full swing DH had a good week money wise but next week might be zero so it's stashed away at the moment waiting to see what the weeks bring in on a regular basis and then we will be able to take a wage well hopefully :)

  • Quick check in for now. Lots of meal planning and freezing today, went shopping yesterday and so far have individually frozen 6 large rolls, 4 trays of mushrooms portioned into 7 meals, 10 small rolls, two sections of cheese. 4 sections of cheese to do tomorrow, along with bacon and cooked chicken. Freezer seems very full again which is not great but it does need defrosting which will give more room. I am going to tackle it over the next few days.
Horses all ok, in at night and out during the day, they know their routine well they are waiting at the gate ready :) Doggies all fine as well :)
DH and DS very busy and doing well, bank account managed to stay the same this week without going further overdrawn, that was nice. Mortgage has updated waiting for loan and credit card to do the same before updating totals.
Cleaned up lots today again, its a never ending job. It's been raining so much there is no chance of cutting the grass but it will need to be done before the winter sets in.
Have slept like a log last two nights, woke early around 6 ish and then went straight back to sleep very heavily. Diet is going really well 4lb left to go, but will then be half a stone lighter than I originally planned to be, think that will be it, challenge will now be to maintain it.
