Off to Majorca in 3 weeks time and wondered if any one can tell me if prescription glasses would be much cheaper over there. I have just got a new prescription and rimless varifocals are about £270 in specsavers. Unfortunately Glasses Direct and similar companies don't do varifocals, any views on this, thanks Andy.

sorry, not sure know about spain, probably cheaper, but we've recently bought some from thailand via email, direct to the optician, we were quoted £385 here - cost £122 from Thailand! Took about a month in all - including delivery.0

My family live in Spain and to the best of my knowledge, if you have really good Spanish then you can pass yourself off as a resident in which case prescriptions are free, but my mum has got to show her Residencia (English equivalent = NI card) as her Spanish isn't so hot."And crawling on the planet's face,

Lost in time, and lost in space,
And meaning"0 -
If you live anywhere near Walsall there is a place called look for the eye on the redhouse trading estate. They do glasses, all designer bi and varifocal at bargain prices. I paid £80 for a pair of FCUK ones recently.0

I have heard very good reports on the chat sites of these people:
https://www.glassesdirect.co.uk/release_000/index.htm
I have no connection with them but will try them when I next change prescription.
Doubt you could get a pair of glasses cheaper anywhere else.0
