They're due to start revealing the bulk of the free share referrals this week.

Sadly they gave me Rightmove at £5.05 which was a total disappointment :(

Freetrade have just opened up referrals for existing customers to refer others for a free share each. I understand it was previously limited to those that had participated in the crowdfunding. People (not me) are offering their links on the Referrals board.

Shall I bother to refer my wife? How did others do on their free shares? Was I just unlucky?

Hi guys, just a quick update I decided to go with trading212 instead as I preferred the UI. I have have had no problems with it so far and I got a free Micron Tech share worth about £35. I havent research the site for research at I use HL for any research/news.

The median free share is around £5. So far I have received:
    Cineworld £2.46
    Fitbit £2.63
    Jupiter £3.47
    SuperDry £4.16
    Trainline £4.24
    Ocado £11.54

    So , averaging: £4.75

Some of the shares people have posted include:
    US Gvt Bnd £171.42
    HY Corp Bond £82.17
    £ Ultrashort £100.53
    £ Corp Bond £152.31
    Twitter £33.53
    Tesla £187.40
    Diageo £34.64

Appreciate it can be frustrating if you receive a low value share but genuinely pleased for those who've got lucky.

Thanks for that - I won't bother explaining it all to my wife and getting her to install the app if we are on average only like to get a total of around £10 and it's yet another account to close.

Hmm, got the average, exactly, that NickS reports they've had.

One share £4.75 Vietnam Enterprises. Not very exciting!

But, despite Alexland's point above, I think I will refer Mrs Z-man, though perhaps try it on the same device (after logging out, obvs) rather than getting her to install it (and anyway we only have one device that runs Android 7!).

Nothing to lose, apart from a bit of time.

After the last batch was released I ended up with:
    Cineworld £2.42
    Fitbit £2.67
    Jupiter £3.41
    SuperDry £4.14
    Trainline £4.26
    Ocado £11.99
    GoPro £3.64
    Vietnam Ent £4.74
    Aston Martin £5.02
    MSCI China £6.04

Lots of discussion as to whether there should be a minimum allocation of say £5 and reducing the upper limit or whether it's better to have the opportunity of receiving a high-value share. Personally I prefer the bigger range as there's limited work involved opening an account but I can understand someone would be disappointed if they ended up with an AO.

The new roadmap has just been released and they've started adding to the available stocks:

@windmill26, you can't post referral links here.

A bit late to the party, but I got my Freetrade free share Today

    PayPoint £5.31

Interesting I thought to get a share in a company I've actually used, but lets get shot of it Today.
Clicked the sell, but it said it would have to wait until 3pm for the trade, so I decided to wait. Deciding to have a bit more of a peek at my free share company I see it not unsurprisingly fell due to the covid crash, but is now going up.
Plus it has a Dividend yield of 7.40%. Hmm, should I hold on to it for a few more fun free pennies? Should I buy more? I think I see the insidious mind games at work to draw me into investing, but I can resist, I know better to market time and dabble in individual company shares.

What was that free trade hypno toad, I should buy more?

    Retired 1st July 2021.
    This is not investment advice.

Can't believe it's been over a year since I got Rightmove at £5.05 and it would be worth £6.50 now so an over 28% gain but not sure I could have held my nerve when it dropped to £4.20 in the covid crash. Maybe hold on to your free share and you will do better than I didn't :-)
