Did the same in the end, as my wife was keen to get access, and the code arrived very promptly by email... only for the letter to finally arrive this morning. (We're Jersey.)
  • I can confirm that our letters also showed up this morning, so that saved me a phone call this afternoon. If anybody lives outside Europe like Danie5 I guess the letters will take longer to arrive, so maybe to be on the safe side e-mail LC requesting the codes by e-mail.

You have until the 10th January 2020 to submit your claim. I don't suppose for one minute they're going to do anything further until that deadline has passed.
My letter was dated the 27th Nov. It's currently only one week later. Christmas post has started slowing the system down.

I don't think there's any reason to start getting anxious about not having received the letter just yet.

I'm not sure why you need contract notes. Surely a statement would suffice as it would show individual purchases and sales?

The statement I received from LC yesterday is in fact a statement from the SVS system. I suggest you contact LC and ask them for a statement from the SVS system from the date when your children's accounts were created until today. By comparing the statements, you should be able to spot when and why the holdings differed.

It's just that only the balances are shown on the portal, no transactions - a statement would suffice I guess. Did you specifically request a statement from them?

    I didn't even ask for a statement!

The background is that I emailed LC to ask when and how we would be able to check what dividends had been received into the client accounts SINCE 5th August, which the portal doesn't show. The response from LC was quick and helpful - a statement (generated by the SVS system) which showed all the transactions (in my case just a couple of dividends) after 5th August.

I'm assuming that LC could just as easily generate statements for your accounts which show all transactions since the date your children acquired their holdings at SVS (rather than just since 5th August). The statements should show any share purchases or sales, which should be enough for you to trace why there might be discrepancies between the individual accounts of your children. Judging by the helpful response I got to my enquiry, I'm sure it would be worth you asking? I think all LC will need is the name and the account number of each of the accounts.

Anyone any ideas who the new the short listed candidates might be? It would be good to find out the preferred candidate before much longer so that we can begin to feel that we are approaching getting back to normality.

I expect that we may never find out but it would also be interesting to know how much they are paying for each account.

Is it possible they are waiting to announce so that we all don't go and start creating accounts with the same brokers,
if they announce and we create an account beforehand, would the brokers still pay the "introduction fee" to the administrators ?
