Howdens are pressing me to deliver by the end of September. A friend told us that we should hold out until october as there is usually a sale on. Is that right and will that mean I will be able to get a further discount?
Last week I was told by a Howden's salesman that there will be a sale in October. I said I was just looking and not ready to order a kitchen and advised to hold off until the sale next month."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -

We are looking at the fairford range. The quote has come in at £13k incl Vat but excluding work surfaces for a kitchen that is about 5mx4m.
1. Is the quote received the discounted price, the full price or the price including a builders markup? The quote came direct from Howdens following a measure up they did with my builder this week. There is only one set of figures.
2. Is this the price I have to pay or should I be asking for a discount (or further discount if it is already discounted)?

4. Should I be haggling or do I leave this with my builder to do? I have not obtained other prices from internet kitchens or places like wrens as comparison as I understand that Howdens is good value and good quality and other quotes from local kitchen companies have come in much higher.
Many thanks
Hard to say without an itemised list/quote of the products that they have priced you on, mate.
Fairford is a 19mm MDF, PVC wrapped, ABS edged 5-piece shaker door and 13k without worktops sounds rather high for that spec, but it very much depends on the amount of cabinets, accessories and the quality of the sink(s), taps & appliances.0 -
I’m obviously showing my lack of experience, but £5k without work tops or appliances seems a lot? Is the kitchen quite big? I’ve been designing my kitchen via DIY kitchens so have a vague idea.0
