Virgin Mobile - Not very good are they ?
Been with Virgin for years. Literally. Must be nearly 20 years.
I'm a very very low user and they've always been 'fine' although the online account pages have always been abysmal.
£6.something a month. 1GB. Unlimited calls n texts.
Anyway, I'm still on 3G cos they stuck with 3G for years after everyone else and when they actually changed to 4G a few years ago, they didn't upgrade their loyal users.. oh no, they kept us on 3G.
So lately the WiFi at work has gone up the swanny so I thought I'd give em a call and see if they'd send me out a 4G sim and maybe match the competition and up me to 2GB data.
Called. Picked retention as I'd read this put you through to a UK call centre.
No such luck. Foreign call centre who struggled to understand what I was saying.
'Best' she could do is up me to £7 a month for 2GB 4G. Which I was OK with really.
"You need to sign up to a 12 month contract though"
I explained I'd been a loyal customer for 20 years and I could switch to Plusnet for the same deal on a monthly contract.
Wasn't interested.
Bye bye Virgin.

As has been mentioned on this forum several times, customer loyalty counts for little with mobile networks. Just ditch and switch, although be careful to (a) check coverage and (b) read the T&Cs. In the case of the latter, check what overspending caps there are, ie does data stop or do you get fleeced at the end of the month?0

Presuming you don't think you may have to move in the next 12 months (and need a different carrier) I can't see what difference sticking with VM would have made to you?
Edit: BTW Plusnet don't support shortcodes for texting purposes (or at least they didn't, no idea about VM) so if you do use it for NHS appointments and the like that could be an issue for you.0
