BW Legal CCJ

Hello,
I was hoping someone could help me. I have scrolled through the newbies thread but I cannot find what I appear to be looking for.
I have recieved a letter from BW Legal dated 23/7/2019. It was sent to my current address but in my Maiden name. The letter states "A CCj was entered against you. You have failed to pay the amount oustanding. Consideration for Enforcement action: County Court Bailliff." The parking ticket was recieved in March 2015, I have a vague recollection of getting a letter at my old address about a ticket.
I have lived at my current address for 2 and half years but have never had a letter from these people before at this address. I certainly have never reiceved a claim form for a CCJ. I value my credit rating and have worked hard to get it back up, so wouldn't jeapordise this.
My issue is I have checked the registry (for both current name and maiden name) and my clear score/experian accounts and I cannot locate a CCJ anywhere. Both credit score accounts are also linked to my maiden name. So I am a little baffled.
Could it be that is it just not showing up anywhere yet? I appreciate any help on this.
Many Thanks

Have you checked at trustonline?
If that's clear then you don't have a ccj against you up till now!0 -
Hello,
I have checked the trust online for both current and maiden name, also checked experian which is linked to my maiden name. Nothing is showing anywhere. I have requested the information from BW Legal, proof of the communication they sent me and of the CCJ itself.
Thanks for replying!0 -

Did they fail to specify the Claim Number, or the Date of Judgment, on the letter?
If so, send this, written by bargepole for another person who got the same letter and no CCJ:
Also report BW Legal to the SRA online, telling them that you have no CCJ and showing them BW Legal's apparently 'rogue' letter.Dear BW Legal,
WITHOUT PREJUDICE SAVE AS TO COSTS
In your letter dated xx/xx/19, you allege that “On a County Court Judgment was entered against you”. However, I have just checked Registry Trust online, and there are no CCJs recorded against my name.
Since you fail to specify the Claim Number, or the Date of Judgment, I can only conclude that this is at best an abuse of process, or at worst a criminal scam, on your part. The fact that you are offering a 40% ‘discount’ is further evidence that these letters are as bogus as a nine pound note. I was already aware that the pondlife solicitors who act for private parking companies employ dubious and deceitful tactics, but to attempt to extort monies by using the threat of a non-existent Judgment, reaches new depths of utterly unacceptable behaviour, and directly contravenes the SRA Code of Conduct.
By processing my data in this unlawful way, you have acted in breach of the Data Protection Act 2018. In the alternative, your actions cross the threshold of harassment, pursuant to Section 1(1)(a) and (b) of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
Due to the serious distress caused by your letter misleading me about by credit record and a CCJ that does not exist, I am now contemplating legal proceedings against BW Legal Services Limited T/A BW Legal under either, or both, of the above causes of action, unless I receive a compensatory payment from you in the sum of £750 to settle the matter.
Your remittance must be received within 14 days of this letter, failing which proceedings will be issued in the County Court without further reference to yourselves. A Judgment against you may have a detrimental effect on your company’s credit rating, and you may also incur further costs for court fees, interest, and enforcement by High Court Enforcement Officers, with powers to force entry to your business premises and seize company assets.
If you are unsure as to how to respond to this letter, I suggest that you seek advice at your local Citizens’ Advice Bureau as soon as possible.
Yours faithfully,PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

That's really helpful, thank you. I actually work for a law firm, so I'm hoping I can call in a favour from a Paralegal to send a letter on headed paper from work. If it should turn out to be a lie.
So far bwlegal have emailed me twice asking to confirm my details for data protection, which I have done but we haven't got past this point yet.
I will keep you informed.0 -

They won't care about the headed paper.

Also complain to your MP. Give them as much grief as you can. as nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, this one certainly seems to be.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Doubt they have an answer ? This is not subject to an apology etc, they wrote to you, they knew what they were doing.
Their cheque for £750 could resolve the matter, Mind you, they would continue so best get complaint in to the authorities
If BWLegal are doing this on mass, then it would be more serious than Wonga with their fake solicitor letters

Hello Everyone,
Well today I received a letter in the post from bwlegal stating "We can confirm that any letter received by yourself stating that County Court Judgement has been entered against yo,u has been sent in error as an administrative error and we have not entered a Judgement against you."
Absolutely unbelievable! Absolutely shocking way to behave and was clearly a very standard letter that has been sent out many times. I will as above be reporting them to the SRA.0
