Are gaming chairs that comfortable?

I used to love my gaming chair, however now i have started full time work i don't see much of a difference between that and a good high quality office chair which would still probably be cheaper as with the gaming chairs your paying additional money for the concept0

The price depends on the manufacturer. But gaming chairs are more comfortable - they are lighter. If you need to move the chair, this causes less difficulty. A good office chair also costs a lot. Therefore, it seems to me that the best choice is the design you like. Because the +/- prices don't differ much on average. Unless you are lucky and there will be discounts.oli150194 said:I used to love my gaming chair, however now i have started full time work i don't see much of a difference between that and a good high quality office chair which would still probably be cheaper as with the gaming chairs your paying additional money for the concept

Yes They Do Work. I purchased One Normal Office Chair And It does my Job. No Back Issues Right Now.0

Absolutely! My brother has been using these gaming chairs since years and have complimented them several times. It's a must buy!!britishboy said:i was originally after a decent, ergonomic office chair for home, then it dawned on me that gamers spend hours per day seated, so, are gaming chairs that great?
I know they look great, like they've been lifted straight from a Subaru rally car, but how do you find them after several hours use?
I dont want to buy one and end up slouching in it, so thought I'd ask you guys (and girls) first-2 -
I chose a chair with the correct fit and lumbar support.

Hi everyone, old resurrection of my post I know. I tried a cheap ergonomic chair, with the mesh back but even though it was adjustable, left me sat bolt upright like I had a plank up my back. Then I tried one of those kneeling ergo stools (where you are almost in an elevated kneeling position). Helped a little, but had cramp set in once that left me laying on the floor
So now, I think i need to try a decent office chair - Any recommendations?0 -
I wouldn’t buy any chair without having the opportunity to test/try it out first.
Last one I bought for gaming I spent 30-40min just sat on it in the showroom to try and get a better feel for it.
My wife bought one off Amazon at the start of March lockdown for WFH and that lasted a week - it was awful.
My last work chair - I tried 5 different models out over a 6 week period untill I found a suitable one
Find an office chair retailer and/or gaming chair retailer and go test some out.

I have a reasonable quality Ikea office chair both in the office and at home, I have sat in them for 14+ hours a day some days, I have never had any issues. Largely gaming chairs just seem to be an expensive gimmick.0

I think for the "average" person, you may be right Matt, but for the larger person or someone with known posture issues it's important to get the right one be it gaming or not0

As a measure of not average I am 6ft 1in tall (186cm) and 12st 10lbs (81kg), I have never found an Ikea chair that does not adjust to fit my size and I have employees who are significantly shorter than me (one lady is 5ft 2in tall) and the same model of chair adjusts to them so I would suspect that the vast majority of people fit within the range that most standard office chairs can be adjusted for.JamoLew said:I think for the "average" person, you may be right Matt, but for the larger person or someone with known posture issues it's important to get the right one be it gaming or not0
