Are gaming chairs that comfortable?

Can you suggest a good office chair that has the same features and adjustability as for example a Noblechairs hero for less money that would be suitable for a 120kg 6’ 4” person ?1

I need gaming seat with speakers. Any suggestion?0

Now, you could probably say 'but the person didn't ask your opinion on if gaming chairs are good or not' - but I think it is worth pointing out for people who may not be sure how rubbish they really are.0 -
dan958 said:Not unhelpful at all. 'gaming' chairs are extremely overpriced, and most of the time really bad for your back. One with build in speakers will also sound terrible as most just have tinny speakers in them. Get a decent chair and just some cheaper speakers that will sound much better. Don't fall into the Twitch Streamer marketing that is making gaming chairs all the rage.

As someone with 30 years of back issues I no longer have them when gaming. Did 8hrs in it grinding COD MW and just fine. If anything my back has been much better since I got it.Given the prices I've seen for similar office chairs from office furniture suppliers the £349 was a bargain.

I also have that chair - awesome bit of kit.
dan958 - find/show us a chair with the same features that isn’t a “gaming” chair if you can (for a similar price as well)
I challenged previous posters in June to do the same - they didn’t return.
You won’t either - as you know you are talking rubbish0 -

What features are you looking for? I've heard good things about chairs from Ergo-Tek, which has an adjustable headrest, armrests, adjustable lumbar support - where as majority of gaming chairs just throw in a 'lumbar support pillow', which isnt the best as you cant adjust how much support it gives. The Nobel Hero is definitely one of the better gaming chairs, and gives actual lumbar support, but at double the price of my previous example.

I personally use 'Pretorian High Back Swivel Chair', which I got from our office when they were throwing everything out for new gear. Extremely comfortable, adjustable height, angle, armrests, inflatable lumbar support. It doesn't have a headrest though, which I know some people may require. It also doesn't have the horizontal tilt that Nobel has, not that I could think of any reason I'd ever use that feature for an office chair.1 -
Those Ergo-tek are ok at best for the average user, but for tall and/or heavy people they lack a lot of adjustability in height and base depth.
At 6’ 4” and 120kg it doesn’t actually raise high enough or have a deep enough seat base or support my weight
That lumbar support on them is awful as well, it’s just a solid piece of plastic that slides up and down. We have that on some chairs at work and it digs in so badly.
Any chair with that built in V shape on the backrest is totally unsuitable and uncomfortable for me
Best chair for comfort and adjustability that I have seen (and used) is a Senator Agitus - sadly no longer manufactured.
The main problem with the majority of sub £300 chairs is that although they are adjustable and will suit maybe 85% of people, if you are in the15%, there is nothing more painful than having the wrong posture in a chair1 -
They surely are. I bought one for myself and trust me my gaming experience just evolved. It's so relaxing and comforting to play games on a gaming chair-1
