CMD - I like your suggestion but in 10 years I think OH has cooked 10 times!! Although he does do certain bits for me (peel potatoes or make fried eggs), even if I could get him to agree to cooking an entire meal I know I'd end up having to "help" (i.e. he'd keep claiming he didn't know how to do something!)Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,555.00

Thank you iwantanewlife!
Some pieces of good news:
1) Checked my latest ne*t statement and they didn't add any interest! So that debt has officially bitten the dust! (Is that a saying or have I just made that up!?)
2) Finally managed to reach the cashout threshold on onepoll! So that's £40 that will be appearing at some point!
3) I managed to fix my crochet project! Although it may still be my prototype/ practice as it's smaller than I wanted - in which case I will give it to my mum who's crocheting some pieces for a charity so it will go to a good cause
4) It's my birthday tomorrow and one of my colleagues made me a cake!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Hello diaryland!
Had quite a quiet, spend-free weekend which was nice but it didn't feel very birthday-ish. However, I was very excited to finish my first crochet project! (Not sure I should admit that when I've only turned 33!) I've just ordered the wool to start making the next ones - have to re-make the first one as it wasn't as big as I wanted, so that will just be my little prototype and will make the rest in chunkier wool.
In terms of my September targets, I didn't manage to totally pay off Bcard which currently has a balance of £270.25. Had I met my other target of paying £800 across all debts I think I would have acheived this (haven't checked the maths!). In total I made £562.25 worth of payments which after interest reduced the debts by £465.20. Whilst I didn't hit my targets I'm still giving myself credit for paying off that much in a very expensive month for me!
But, my lodger has said he's leaving. Very annoyed at him - not that he's leaving but that he's meant to be a friend and told me via text! I'm still in a strop(!) and so haven't responded but assuming he means from now, and so won't be giving me any money for October. So that means we're £300 worse off a month, i.e. £300 less to throw at the cards. However, obviously our energy usage will go down and the groceries will spread further - so it isn't £300 down, just £300 less in cash (if that makes any sense!)
Waiting for the OnePoll money to hit my bank so that I can pay that off. Plus I cashed out £1 on TCB this morning (very annoyed at myself that I ordered something over the weekend and forgot to use TCB as could have got 10%!) Need to keep up with all these little bits and bobs as they do soon add up!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

I'm here to keep myself accountable! Feel like bad habits are started to creep back in. Bottle of pop here, lunch at work there! Not good if I'm slipping and I'm only two months in! Think I'm feeling deflated that the lodger leaving is going to set us back a bit and so doing that whole "oh b*gger it" thing! Need to snap out of it!
Still waiting on the OnePoll money, but had £1 from TCB and £2 reward from my bank appear this morning. So that £3 went off the Bcard! I've been paid but impatiently waiting for my CC statements to land so that I can pay off the minimums! Then I'll go back to focussing on Bcard.
IT WILL GO THIS MONTH!

you can do it! think how good it will feel when its all gone and there will be no waiting for statements to come through the door!My debt free journey, diary and all! New Life Pending :beer:0 -
I think I got myself confused yesterday (morning my first cup of tea) and think I overpaid on my Hcard. So the statement was issued on 8 Sept and yesterday was due the date for payment. Now the confusing thing was that it said I last made a payment on 7 Sept (before the statement was issued) - however it was for exactly the right amount! So I'm sure it would have fallen under the right statement month but in my confusion/ worry, I decided to make "another" payment to be on the safe side. Nothing wrong with that in theory, but the Hcard is a lower priority at the moment. So leaves £70 less to throw at other debts but oh well it's done now!
New MBNA statement "arrived" this morning, so made the minimum payment off of that one. Others should come through in the next few days. You're right iwantanewlife - be nice when I haven't got to do this process each month!
Still waiting on OnePoll money to appear, but must be patient! Need to patiently build it back up again as well! Nearly back up to £5 on Prolific so hopefully be able to cash that out next week.
My other MSE action today was to start the switching process to a new energy provider. My contract expired last week, so have switched which will apparently save about £230 a year with £25 cashback. Other thing I really must sort out is the TV package - discussion needed with the OH this weekend!
Went out for a lovely dinner with a friend last night but a quiet weekend planned. Or rather we have no plans! So weekend will probably consist of cleaning the spare room as lodger has "moved out" - technically he hasn't as he hasn't been back since he texted me, so all his stuff is still there! But as his rent has "expired" (and I'm still stroppy with him!) I might bag it all up! More exciting job is starting my next crochet project as the yarn arrived yesterday! Just under a month until it needs to be complete in time for my god son's birthday - hopefully that's plenty of time as first one only took a week (although I did spend a lot of time on it during that week!)Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

It was the quiet weekend I expected! Ended up managing to get a lot of my crochet done but none of the cleaning! Lodger said he was coming yesterday, so I didn't start sorting out his stuff on the basis he would do it only for him not to show up! Luckily we're not planning on having anyone else move in or I would be charging him! I've managed to refrain from sending him a not so nice message so far, as he is supposedly a friend (although he hasn't made me feel that way), so don't want to fall out!
In MSE news, I've sorted out my home insurance which ended up being a couple of quid cheaper than last year! Still on the to do list is the TV package! Oh and I must book a boiler service!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
