Good afternoon, I hope you have all had some of this fabulous sunshine.  I've spent most of it in the garden with Tilly lying in the borders (Tilly not me).  I have built the arch I ordered and put it into position.  It's bigger than I'd expected but so is further forward than planned.  That meant I can keep the old rose bush which is actually behind it, to screen the back fence.  I've moved the large pot by rolling it :) and have planted a Hosta in it that friend P gave me at the end of last year then I found an old floor tile in the garage that I have put under the pot so the whole project has cost my the price of the arch and some flexing of the old muscles (shopping from home as Foxgloves would say) .

Friday was a good day  too.  Walk with friend P and a cup of tea half way and managed to do 18000 steps.  I did have to stop a coupe of times for a few minutes to stretch my back but managed it none the less.  The Zoom meeting didn't go ahead as friend S had computer problems and couldn't get her emails up but had a bit of a chat on the phone instead and we have rescheduled for next week.  It was also GDS's birthday so had a couple of glasses of red in his garden.  Tilly came too and had a good old sniff around their huge garden then sneaked off to be found in a neighbours garden being fussed.

I am invited to a small barbecue tomorrow to celebrate DGGS's 4th birthday, the forecast is still good so should be a good afternoon.  It is so good to be able to see family again even if it is in a limited way.  I'm continuing to test myself every 3 days and so far all good.

Well I'm gagging for a coffee so I'll get off and make one.  I have last night's Gardeners World to watch this evening and might look for a film on Netflix later.
Enjoy your weekend whatever you are doing.

    Hello all
Well what a lovely day off I had yesterday.  Firstly an old colleague of mine came round for a cup of tea and we sat in the rain drinking it !!  It wasn't so bad though as not really cold, just damp.  I then went to get my nails and eyebrows ( I swear they were long enough to plait) done for the first time since beginning of December and feel half decent now, just need the hair cut next week to complete the job.  After lunch I had been invited to join a class of students I taught who were celebrating the end of uni.  They were meeting at a local pub garden and didn't know I was coming.  I got a round of applause as I arrived, very embarrassing but lovely all the same and I spent an hour catching up with each of them and their plans for the future.
On arriving home I found a letter from my solicitor telling me how much I am due from my ex husband and the court date for 1st July.  It seems that he has at last taken legal advice and been advised to comply with the order.  Now I'm not going to count my chickens just yet but it looks like he will settle before then to avoid paying costs.  This has been such a long time coming and will make a huge difference to my financial security going forward.  It just goes to show that it is worth while not giving up as justice has been served.

I have one more client this evening and then I'm done for the day.  Ill be off to prepare then, see you later

    It is Beanie, thanks.

    Hello all
I wrote  long post this morning and then must have accidently pressed a button as I lost the whole thing :( Anyway, here I am again.
I have a quiet week work wise planned for next week, only working one day so I need to make a list of indoor and outdoor jobs to get on with.  All the flowering plants I kept in pots over the winter are not planted out as well as a beautiful purple clematis that I bought at A!d1 for £169 to climb up the garden arch.  I'm now thinking about what I could grow up the other side, maybe a rose.....not sure yet.  DGS's girlfriend has offered me some courgette seeds and tomato seedlings as she now has a little allotment in her garden and is trying to grow lots of different vegetables, I love going to see what she is up to.  I also want to plant some dwarf beans in amongst the flower borders but that will probably be at the end of May.  I can hardly believe that we will be into May next week, where has the time gone?

This morning I went for my second vaccination so I'm hoping that I wont get the same reaction as last time.  It was only for about 12 hours but was not pleasant.  Still it's definitely better than having COVID.  I had a couple of clients and then a Zoom call with friends P & S to catch up.  I also called the building society to get information regarding my mortgage.  I'm trying to work out whether it is worth paying it all off, a lump sum or to leave it as is and  invest the money.  It will all depend on early payment fees, interest rates etc. but I like to gather information first and then sit down and make a decision.  I do want to update my kitchen though so will be getting in touch for a quote so I can see what I'm working towards.

Tilly has been so good, sleeping on the sofa in my office all day so I'm going to take her for a walk as a reward whil the sun is shining.  It's still quite cold here but at least the rain has only been showers today.

Hope you are all getting some sunshine wherever you are,
    Speak soon

So pleased that you're getting your settlement sorted out.  Hopefully he'll see sense and settle sooner to save himself some money.
Your garden plans sound great.  I'm trying to sort mine out, had the borders widened and ordered some perennial plug plants (lucky dip) but unfortunately they've arrived today without any info about which plants they are! :astonished:   Still awaiting some other plants from them, plug and 'garden ready'  .... hope they're named. :confounded:
