Black sheep, what gives u the right to think i wasn't a potential customer
erm propbably because you weren't a potential customer or you would have been at the customer service desk rather than the cashier.i could have been but after the arragont attitiude i got from the cashier when i told her i wasnt a customer the bank has lost my custom and future custom, because of there rude and arragont staff.
Come on, own up - did you ever have any intention of ever joining that bank? No - so don't start using that as an excuse either. I don't think its arrogant for the bank to reserve services to people from whom they make money off.not everyone is as intelligent as themselves.
Surely by definition everyone is as intelligent as themself?0 -

Business's advertise services to get proper customers and then they either buy or they don't. You can't do everything any Tom, !!!!!! or Harry asks for free in the hope they might become a customer.
You'll probably only get 1 in 2000 new customers though giving services like that. People wouldn't appreciate it anyway, they take to much for granted as this thread shows. All they'd actually do is come back for something free again. May as well save the money and either spend it on advertising or providing better value to your existing customers.0 -

acliffe, it is not fair to play the disability card now when you did not mention that initially. People gave their responses as they would to someone in full health, and had they known that you had a learning disability they would have taken that into account when answering your question. Your above response implies that people were being nasty because of your condition. That isn't really fair.
acliffe,
I understand what you mean. You may read into things more than others due to this. However, I suggest you take it with a pinch of salt. Some people may also come across worse than they mean, it's the nature of written text. I think in most cases people have more been rather blunt, not abusive.
Just take away a balanced argument, you will always get people who understand and others who are more critical.
Banking staff deal with their own customers, not potential ones. They've got people watching them and they know it, so they don't want a telling off later for helping.
The same as some shops won't do it unless you buy something, but others have no problem.
It's a bit like going into a restaurant an asking for something not on the menu.
Blacksheep, I realise acliffe came across a bit rude but was your last comment really necessary? Agree with the rest of your points though.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
acliffe,
i run a branch of a well known high street bank and we do not exchange any money for a customer that is not ours and there are two main reasons for this:
1. We have money laundering regulations in place and cannot just 'swap' money, even if we are told it's from another bank/cashpoint etc. We only accept money that is paid into an account with ourselves, so we also get a record of the transaction for obvious reasons
2. We often have existing customers queuing out of the door (e.g. 31st, payday, fridays, lunchtimes etc.) and I am not prepared to lose or upset any of my existing customers whom have investments etc. with us to change a tenner for someone whom has no business with us - my priority is to see them as will be as long as they bank with us
Hope this explains it a little to you
P.S. Ignore some of the ranters with huge ego's - they're probably in jobs where the don't have to communicate or liaise with others0 -
