Joining outbuilding to main house

Hi I have a house which is very close to a big 2 story outbuilding around 3 meters away. If I joined the 2 properties by a alleyway would it be classed as one whole house? Will the council tax be just my for one main house and not split? And then the outbuilding will automatically become resident so people can sleep in etc ?

Starting a new thread with a different cunning plan won't affect all of the advice you've already been given. You need planning permission, change of use, and to bring the building up to current regulations in order for anyone to live there.0 -

If you aren't 'too busy' you could check Doozer's profile and see how many people she's helped over the years before making assumptions.
While you're at it, you could also read a few of those threads and note how those who come here and ask for advice, receive it in direct proportion to the amount of help and information they offer to respondents. Some people arrive here with photographs, floor plans and detailed descriptions of what they are trying to achieve.
You brought along some vague ideas about loopholes in the law to avoid planning permission and building regs on this outbuilding.0 -
I'm not stalking your threads. I recognised your name.
41, tall, relatively slim and a platinum blonde. I was a girl when I got here, now very much a woman, ta.
My best attribute? Integrity.
Second best? Attention to detail.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

*you're.
You'd do well to articulate yourself correctly, explain what it is you're trying achieve and making yourself open to listening to people with experience; experience of providing quality accommodation for people to live in, whilst upholding the minimum standards our government sets. Not gold standard - minimum standard. Earning money knowing you're beyond reproach and with pride, rather than looking over one's shoulder waiting for someone to catch you out.
Davesnave is right, people who come with some concrete ideas, or an open mind at least, and offer up lots of information to help people build a picture in order to come up with considered options get the most out of this place.
Here's a useful piece of advice. You don't make your candle shine brighter by trying to blow other people's out. Insults (if being a grown up can be called an insult) make you look the fool, no one else. I've linked back to your thread so that others can 'have a life' and review that before wasting their time trying to start from scratch with someone who presently doesn't want to listen. You can turn that around at any point and we'll work with you.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
