Tiscali account... can u help?

I have had a phone call today from Tiscali, they manage my broadband account. They have told me today that they have not received a payment since Sept 04, this is the fist time I have heard from them, they are now asking for 3yrs subscription payments from me.
I was paying by Direct Debit and somehow my instruction was cancelled, so it has not been paid.
My gripe is that they did not suspend my service, or let me know in any way that they were not receiving payments.
They were quite arrogant on the phone and said I must pay now!!
Is there anything I can do??

Hi
I'm having exactly the same problem. Got a letter saying I was in arrears. Direct debit is fine though. Apparently they 'upgraded their systems'.
The only option they give to pay is via a premium rate line (even though they manage the phone).
I've now had a second letter threatening legal action, but feel I shouldn't have to pay a fortune on a premium phonecall just because they messed up the billing system.
Did you get anywhere with this?0 -
that post was from over a year ago (so i should hope that it has been sorted out by now), post 5 was the newest . . .0
