We are due to fly out as a last minute break to Amsterdam and wondered if it would be better to change into Euros in the UK or Amsterdam?
I have been told not to bother at all and just use a card while out there?
Thank you in advance

What credit and debit cards do you have?
Try the surcharge calculator on this site https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/travel-credit-cards/#checker to find out how much your cards will charge for spending and/or withdrawing abroad.
Also try the travel money comparison https://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/ to see how it stacks up against your cards. You may be able to pre order currency to pick up at the airport at on ok rate (but NEVER just walk up to the exchange at the airport!)0 -
I’d use one of the travel credit cards and pay for most things on that.
I live in Amsterdam a lot of the time and rarely ever use cash nowadays.0 -
Pop into a Metro Bank with ID etc to pick up a debit card on the spot; https://www.metrobankonline.co.uk/store-locator/
No foreign exchange nor ATM fees in Europe
Current Mastercard rate; 1.089070
