I posted to get helpful advice although it seems most on here just want to be rude with no true purpose even if this was a one post and nothing else I don’t think anyone has been particularly helpful so not sure I would bother againThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Which posts do you consider to be rude?
I've read every reply and I can't see anything that I would consider to be even the slightest bit rude.
They obviously were't the answers that you were hoping for but this doesn't mean that they are rude or incorrect.0 -
Oh yay, yet another ‘the advice isn’t what I wanted to hear, so you’re all unhelpful’ post.
Snowflake season is here early! :j0 -

Snowflake season is h:jere early!
Reading the OP this is a bit unfair. There is no indication that any compensation was sought, merely that knowledge of how the perceived danger should be reported and some corrective action enforced.
Although the information given--that the OP has no rights against the retailer or manufacturer is correct, that was not what was asked.
If there were some defective manufacturing process involved, the OP would have some claim IF they had been injured. Would this be against the donor of the gift, who could then pursue the retailer and for how long would that responsibility last?
What action should a kettle owner take to ensure that a catastrophic, unexpected failure of the item does not occur? What information should the manufacturers give regarding the frequency and nature of checks and at what age should the item be made redundant?0 -

Post #11 would suggest otherwise. Their best bet would have probably been a shaming post on social media. But they appear to have left now . .0
