Road closure will costs lots of us more money and time

Many years ago we lived on an estate where we could see the main road out of town across a grass strip but we had to drive a full circle round the estate to get out of it and then back up the main road.
This was to cut down on through traffic and avoid people using the roads as a short cut into town.0 -
This road has been in operation for decades. This is due to lobbying from the houseowners. Its also very suspicious as they did not put up notices.Flying Donkeys- Do no harm to others and you will benefit in more ways than one.0

Can you explain the road layout? Are they just proposing blocking off part of it to deter people using it as a rat run?0

You need to get in touch with the council and find out when an order was put in place. They have to do a consultation before any order is put in place.
Stop complaining about it here and do something to get information. If everyone else in the street are in favour of it, you will have an uphill battle.
For any kind of discrimination to be suggested, getting to the person you are a carer for would have to be pretty much impossible. I suspect this will not be the case or else the people in the area would be opposed to it. Do you speak to the people in your street at all? That might have given you an inkling something was afoot before the formal process would begin.0 -
The local council is running a very badly advertised move to close a road and change traffic,
So, they are notifying people about it.0 -
It would be helpful if the OP would tell us at what stage things are at. It's not clear from what the OP says. I find it improbable that it is at implementation stage without them having received a consultation letter and there being no notices on lamp posts. One being missing might be an oversight or a failure to deliver by the Royal Mail or the OP accidentally discarding it as junk mail, since it would not be personally addressed. BUt no notices would be unheard of, short of the notices going up in the incorrect street.0

How far away are your caring duties? At the moment _you_ are also part of the traffic problem, even if you avoid using your car as much as possible. I'm lucky enough to be able to walk to ageing parent, but any further I'd use the bicycle more often. The car is for visits to hospital and the GPs.0
