Buyers rant about postage
Comments
-
There's a similar rant (not by me) on a different forum that has a completely new twist on this. (It's actually a US seller and buyer)
Sellers has his combined postage set automatically to discount when items are ordered together and can be sent in one package, simple you think . Buyer has bought two items, got the discount and is now arguing they want one sent to them an done to their mother in a different State- and their argument is that nowhere on the listing does it say they have to go to the same place.
Buyer paid and seller is quite rightly saying they can only send to the paypal address, so buyer came back with - 'then refund my money and I'll pay half in 2 different transactions and change the address' - the argument being that the discount is for combined purchases and doesn't say anything about both going to same place.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. My favourite at the moment is on FB Marketplace where 7 people have asked whether an item is still available.....
To the last one who did this I have said" if the page says it is still available then it is! "
"Is this available?" is one of the set questions, and not a stupid question at all really given that most people who sell on marketplace will also list on gumtree, shpock etc and perhaps forget to delete the FB listing.
Then consider you don't mark an item sold until it's physically collected from you because of the amount of time wasters on there.
So all in all, 'is this available?' is a perfectly sensible question and your reply a bit curt.0 -

I do tend to agree, it's also easy to hit the standard question link when merely enlarging a photo.
I sell a lot on FB marketplace , I never mark something as sold until I know the recipient has received it in the post or has collected it as once I mark as sold my chat history seems to disappear. So I mark as pending .
I am always happy to respond to a set question though, usually a 'yes it is' suffices and can be ignored or followed up by buyer as they please.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
