In all walks of life there are undesirable people. Little point in getting agitated.0

It's not what they do, it's the way that I do it
!!!!!, rude and lying salespeople I can live without.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
I suspect there are people on this thread who've not done the best deal or bought the most suitable property at some stage, just as we've all made mistakes buying an item of clothing.
Unlike the badly fitting trousers or the loud jacket, the wrong house, once purchased, is onerous and expensive to get rid of.
And who do we employ when we decide to bite the bullet and sell the the thing? Well, not someone who's going to point out all the faults or down-sides in living there, that's for sure!0 -

The majority are OK, but a large minority are quite slimy. Particularly in the south east. It usually tends to be younger ones that are like that, who appear to be modelling themselves on Gordon Gekko. I think they're probably just (a) poorly qualified (b) not very good at their job and (c) quite immature.
There are certainly worse people in life. Telesales people who cold call people with scams or about car accidents you've never had."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -
I didn't think we were that judgemental a bunch, in honesty.
Consider many of the people that come and ask questions here and who they talk about. The vast majority of stories are about the other parties in their deal. The ones where they're finger pointing at EAs are often misguided.
They even get advice here to play games with Estate Agents, get friends to make phone calls, view other properties with the same agent, call someone's bluff, hide how much they can afford, don't ever use anyone they recommend, pretend not to like a house...
Estate agents get to deal with idiots every day of the week and must have a huge number of time wasters. I've probably got more experience of EAs than most and I've rarely had a problem. When I have, it's been a specific person, but like in any part of life, there are going to be people that don't impress you. As a profession there is nothing wrong or dishonest about being an estate agent.
People are always going to feel like they've got the rough end of a deal when buyers want to pay little and vendors want more. Fact is, the estate agent makes the deal happen and it's a good one that can create a deal where both parties feel pushed, but ultimately it's a person's own choice.
Deal with people in an upfront and straightforward manner and you'll get on. Treat people like you don't trust them and you're setting yourself up for a bumpy ride and making yourself look a fool. We create our own realities.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I was married to an Estate Agent once, while I was working for the Inland Revenue. We never got invited to any parties.0

Estate agents sell houses, no matter what is wrong with them. If they can get away without telling you something they will.0

All of the estate agents Ive met (viewing houses) seemed perfectly nice and normal. Maybe there is something wrong with me.0
