Yes, I received a ‘Claim Form’ (with the claimant as VCS and the court address as Money Claims Online, County Court Business Centre, NN1 2LH) and a’ Judgement For Claimant (in default)’.

    I ignored both.

By when is the Judgment to be paid? If the deadline hasn't yet expired, pay off the judgment to avoid a credit trashing, life encumbering, unsatisfied CCJ.

If the deadline has passed, you need more advice before reaching for your chequebook.

Blisteringly ill-advised approach to court orders.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You can get a county court enforcement ... Don't know what IMMU is, but County court bailiffs can seize your property and take it away! !

IIMU not IMMU, old newsgroup shorthand for "it is my understanding".

ROTFLMAO. IANAL, but FWIIW, I have a reasonable understanding of the law surrounding the issues we deal with here, HAND.

The Judgement for Claimant is dated 24th July 2019. it asks for £160 for the debt and £25 for costs.

I thought it was all part of the 'scam'.

Do not think about any 'payment plan' to pay it off on the drip. It's just as bad as not paying at all, your credit rating will be trashed just the same.

You normally have one month to pay the judgment - don't delay, otherwise you have 6 years of credit pain ahead of you!

I intend to get this sorted tomorrow. Obviously now I wish I’d taken a different course of action but I can’t change what’s been done.

Will I have to contact VCS directly?
If I make payment by card over the phone how can I get proof of payment?
Will VCS get the CCJ removed?

Good questions that you need to put to the claimant when you contact them

Nobody here works for the claimant

A receipt for payment in the post is the usual proof from an invoice provider

Your card company will have proof!

But obviously ask for a receipt

The claimant is supposed to inform the court of the payment made but it isn't compulsory which is why you need proof in case it turns out that the claimant neglects to inform the court when you can DIY (small fee involved)

It doesn't matter if the judgement says (eg) payment to be made immediately (or any other date that has passed)

As long as you pay within the month of the date of judgement you will be able to get this expunged from the records

Okay. Thanks to all who’ve replied. I’ll make a start on paying by debt and clearing my credit file tomorrow. I’ll also post an update for other forum users’ information.
