A Worrying Development - Notice of Recovery Letter from Vehicle Control Services

Options
My PCN from VCS dates back to 15th December 2015.

I have ignored all correspondence.

I have now received a Notice of Recovery letter from Vehicle Control Services stating:

“We have been awarded a CCJ against you for £185. This sum is payable forthwith and therefore enforcement action will commence shortly.

If you do not pay your goods may be removed and sold or other enforcement proceedings may be taken against you. Please pay the balance within 7 days to prevent this”

This letter has got me very worried. Please advise me, what should I do now?

You can check to see if you do have a ccj registered against you at the trustonline website

(Did you get and ignore any court correspondence?)

Did you receive a court claim from the Northampton CCBC, and a subsequent notice of a judgment against you, also from the CCBC?

Have you changed address just before or since the date of the parking event?

yes use the trust online, dont worry about anyone coming to the house, even if the is a CCJ all you will do is get letters from ELMS legal debt recovery threatening home visits, but i can assure you no one will turn up

Surely they would be in huge trouble if they were lying. As the amount is small they could not get a High Court Order, and IIMU that CC bailiffs have very limited powers.

There must be a vast amount of information about this on google.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

You can get a county court enforcement order for any amount unpaid from a ccj

Don't know what IMMU is, but County court bailiffs can seize your property and take it away!

If they turn up at your door don't let them in!

Yes, I received a ‘Claim Form’ (with the claimant as VCS and the court address as Money Claims Online, County Court Business Centre, NN1 2LH) and a’ Judgement For Claimant (in default)’.

    I ignored both.

No, I haven’t changed my address.

    Yes I've ignored everything.

The issue date on the claim form is 3rd July 2019.

It was a mistake to ignore it

They may well have a default ccj against you

    Have you checked trustonline?

I accept that. What should I have done?

Not yet but I will. Do I need to pay £10 to do so?

    What do I do next?
