my friend told me yesterday at school she does this and would give me recipe on monday but my children want to make it tonight, typical!!!! thanks.

i make a dish like this all the time, ... open a packet of tortilla chips, place in a bowl, pour over soured cream on one half of them and then salsa on the other, place some jalepeno chillies on the top then sprinkle with grated cheese and place in the oven for 10-15 mins until the cheese melts, they are lovely but should work just as well if you dont have the soured cream or the salsa..
It`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

  • i have a 'recipie', tastes like cinema nacho cheese but is not healthy! Make a thick white sauce, add in processed cheese slices, salt and sweet chilli sauce. Just fiddle abt till you get the consistancy and taste you like.

Thanks Phoolgrrrl :D I know it not healthy....bu that is how they want it...like the cinema one :rotfl: tho cooking ur own has gotta b healthier and cheaper than buying from there :D and if it gets them both in the kitchen then can only b a good thing right? :rotfl: as bf things most things get brought from shop...so can imagine his suprise when i've made him cheesecake ...lemon meringue pie & biscuits from scratch.. he was especially impressed with my bread out of my breadmaker :rotfl: however i have to confess I've beenn off the cooking from scratch for a while due to change in circumstances ....but am now getting back on track...and pulling him with me :D:rotfl: :p

    Hi kal,

There are more suggestions on this thread:

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the replies together.

For myself I am an optimist - there does not seem to be much use being anything else.

I love the warm cheese sauce served with nahcos at the cinema - unfortunately I don't like the price tag that comes with it and I was wondering whether anyone knows how to make a home made substitute? I've bought a jar of Doritos nacho cheese sauce (on offer of course) but it's got spicy bits in it whereas the cinema one doesn't.

The only thing i can think of is something like this warmed up - which we don't get in the UK

Although it seems like it would be too orange still.

I know it's not exactly 'proper' food (ok, a step away from eating plastic) but as a treat I'd love to find my own to 'make'

  • Reviews seem positive for this recipe, sorry can't comment because not made them myself. Come back and let us know how you got on with it.

I think the first recipe is going to give you that processed taste you want.

Ohh thanks Kittycat, you're right, the first one looks like it might do the trick. Will give it a whirl (sure it won't do the waistline any good but everything in moderation)
