Claim Form Received - Case Struck Out - Remote Hearing

Imagine not turning up to a remote hearing. That is quite something, it really is.

These telephone cases are going to be really interesting. I can't see any PPC wanting to take the call and answer a Judge's questions (apart from a couple, none of them have ever appeared in court previously), Gladstones nor BW Legal have ever showed up, or shown any appetite to do so, no takers there either. So are they going to farm out the call to a gun-for-hire legal (@ maybe £120 for a 10 minute call)? We could see many more 'no shows' from here on. Early days, but there could be some interesting times ahead.henrik777 said:Imagine not turning up to a remote hearing. That is quite something, it really is.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

That is a superb point UMK, the only ones that turn up are the "guns for hire" It would indeed to be interesting to see the actual Gladstones and BWLegal picking up the phone, reading from a prepared script which will be just as flawed as their daft lettersUmkomaas said:

As i pointed out previously though, you can't say all judges will do the same thing in the same circumstances.
I'd love this to emerge as a pattern though.4 -
Of those not already furloughed, many of the rest could be working from home. Trying to sort out the logistics of file interchange, perhaps with no access to historical documentation, lining up guns-for-hire for very tightly timed telephone call appointments, are all likely to be much more logistically demanding for them while the lockdown continues. Could get themselves into a right mess!beamerguy said:

Not a cat in hell's chance of that ever happening. Even when the court hearing is right on their doorstep, they never turn up, they rely on the freelance advocates from the likes of Elms Legal.beamerguy said:

Advocacy in court (or, as at present, over a telaphone hearing) is a very different skill from writing letters. They would break out in a cold sweat at the thought of having to do that.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.5 -
Well done OP, weight off your mind. And a good thing you are doing with your "winnings."
