  • Hi, Lou - your SOA and household people to organise made me flap just thinking about it! Kudos for keeping all that on the road. : )

NSDs are a great tool. Not just because (duh) you don't spend anything, but because they instill the habit of not spending anything. My food bill, for example, was much higher because I'd grab something from the shop on the way home. If I was determined to have an NSD, I wouldn't, and then discover I had either a) a perfectly good meal already in the fridge/freezer, or b) the makings of a really quick meal already in the fridge/freezer.

I suspect you're going to smash this debt, so will subscribe and cheer you on!

Do you have access to a freezer at work? Could you take some frozen batch cooked food to work and leave it there for the days you are rushing and would otherwise have forgotten? I must follow this tip too lol

Yes there is a freezer at work, I hadn't considered taking in a stash.

    Good idea :T

I called Step Change yesterday about the old biddies (no offence ) mortgage.
The woman I spoke to was quite sceptical but we agreed I would call back on Monday with more facts and figures.
I will also call Santander as they currently hold our mortgage to see what they can offer, however I think they will only talk to us when we have 4 months remaining on our fixed term so that will be September.
I am unsure whether we should go for a 2 year or 5 year fixed term 😞, especially as we may be selling up and shifting areas, (not downsizing) at some point hopefully in the next 5 years

Excuse my punctuation JRM has made me a bit paranoid about using commas!

    Hi Buffy :hello:

    Thank you for dropping by

Make the most of your mum distracting you, mine was a pain when she was around but she's been gone 15 years now and I would love a chat with her

    :heart::heart::heart:

Got home from church today, we take the twins but leave DS at home. He 16 and in love with his bed.
I thought I heard movement in the downstairs loo, went in there and two strategically placed buckets were collecting water pouring from the ceiling.
OH checked out the upstairs bathroom and we have a leak on a pipe at the back of the loo.
All now disconnected and drained down he will be picking up new toilet pipework tomorrow and fixing the loo
A perk of being married to a retired engineer. ( he can also fix the heating - bonus)
No NSD over the weekend, I have spent £28 altogether so certainly not as expensive as a typical weekend;:D
I have Friday off this week so taking the kids and a picnic to Hampton Court.
I joined Historic Royal Palaces a few months ago and the subscription gives free access to Hampton Court, Towers of London etc.
It allows up to 6 children so I put some "cousins" on ours as well so a rather impoverished friend can bring her brood and just pay for herself.
Hoping to polish off ToL and Banqueting House this summer.
I have set up a daily interest spreadsheet, similar to those used by mortgage free wannabes so any additional payments can be logged on that to help monitor the DF date.

Currently fairly skint so apart from the toilet pipework hoping for an NS day tomorrow.

    Good day today

    NSD :j:j:j

Moved down into the next stone bracket:j:j:j

Booked tickets for Chelsea V Leicester City later this month. DS is a member of LCFC and is disabled. For reasons I can't quite fathom, his ticket and my carers ticket were free :j:j:j
We were going to book tickets for Leicester V Bournemouth but they are £20 so will have to wait until tomorrow. He pays but the money comes from my bank account.

    Monday is over.:j:j:j
Monday evening is my favourite time of the week as it is almost a whole week until I have to face another Monday morning.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Finally finished the chicken pasta bake. I've taken it into work as lunch for the last 6 working days
Off to play with my snowballs
