Keep up the good work
Hi Dan!
I am trying to use this as motivation. Every time I think about it it feels like a kick in the teeth, but one I've given to myself!
Pizza days do fix them!0 -
Hi All
Just to say sorry for being a bit of a moaner lately, but thank you so much for all your encouragement! It's such a great community here!
I am reading diaries and cheering you all on behind the scenes, so many diaries to read and try to comment on!0 -
Hey, we all have our ups and downs and that's the beauty of this community; we can help uplift, motivate and support one another.
You're doing great.0 -

I could have written this. I'm waiting my life away too right now, we will decide by the end of this month if I am going to give notice on my place, and if I do it will be my last rent payment, then October pay will be a totally different SOA/Budget. Also don't want to wish my life away but just want it to be decided and done and stress over haha.Paid - 7095/26218 - Total0 -
Hi TravelGirl
I've just read your diary and it resonates with me so much. Especially the travel part- we have spent a lot on that this year, as much as we can afford it 'on paper' I really should have paid down debts more first. The longing for just wanting to feel secure in your financial situation. I'm nearly 2 years into the journey and have made great progress. The first few months with the 'easy' wins feel great as the numbers change quickly. When I got to 50% paid I stagnated completely and thought I was strong enough to 'just put x on the card- i'll pay it back next month' so my debt figure has barely changed in the past 9 months. But it's a marathon not a sprint, we will make mistakes but we will get there in the end.
You are doing great. keep posting.
Take care

Each diary is a persons journey to getting debt free....there is going to be moments of sheer joy at the little targets you hit, but there will be moments of frustration and ' moany' moments it is all part of the process of getting better at budgeting. We are all human and have mishaps.
Keep going0 -

Thank you! Need to remember even the minimum payments are progress, and every month I don't use credit (which was a few months ago I think), is a month I haven't made my debts worse!0 -

We really need to stop waiting our lives away don't we, and find the fun in the stuff we can afford to do (I also need to start taking my own advice!)
Have you made a decision re your place yet?0 -

Hi Starmummy!
Thanks for reading and replying!
I find it so hard with holidays, there's so much I want to see that giving it up a bit is a struggle! I also have a 'running out of time' sort of fear, so it's wanting to do it all now but knowing that one more big holiday (like the £5k ones I have been on recently), could put me in a dangerous position of not having enough money to cover everything I need to.
I've also been in the, 'I'll put this on the card and pay it next month' situation. I have full intentions to pay it the next month but inevitably it doesn't happen, and the situation gets worse again.
Will find your diary and catch up.0 -

Thanks Dan!
I do need to make sure I celebrate the small wins, because they all add up! Frustration causes the moany moments I guess.0
