Excel Parking Court Claim Issued

Hi. I received a court claim today from Excel Parking for parking at a Car Park in Nottingham located at 16 High Pavement, Nottingham. I did try to post a Google Maps link but the forum won't let me.
I vaguely remember the day in question and I parked there for about 20 minutes. I don't recall seeing any signs at the time and did not purchase a ticket. I did not get a parking charge on my windscreen but I guess they must have been using ANPR.
Having a look on Google Maps I can see there is one sign on the right of the entrance and another by the payment machine. Is this sufficient signage or can I defend on the basis of insufficient signage? I genuinely did not see the signs.
Any help about how to go about defending would be appreciated.
The driver has not been identified and the court paper only refers to the "keeper's vehicle".

But the driver has been identified by your post with the "I parked there for about 20 minutes" statement. The parking scammers do read this forum and CAN use what you write against you in Court.
You need to edit and remove all info regarding "I did this" "I did not" etc etc, these scammers can be beaten and do get a whooping in Court but you have to be on the ball with how you do it.
Keep reading around the Forum which will give you a much clearer picture as to how and what to do and when to do it.0 -
Email a SAR to the DPO at Excel asap
Post the issue date from the top right of the claim form below0 -

Having done the AoS, you have until 4pm on Monday 19th August 2019 to file your Defence.
That's over three weeks away. Loads of time to produce a perfect Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
When you are happy with the content, your Defence should be filed via email as suggested here:-
Print your Defence.
- Sign it and date it.
- Scan the signed document back in and save it as a pdf.
- Send that pdf as an email attachment to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk
- Just put the claim number and the word Defence in the email title, and in the body of the email something like 'Please find my Defence attached'.
- Log into MCOL after a few days to see if the Claim is marked "defence received". If not chase the CCBC until it is.
- Do not be surprised to receive an early copy of the Claimant's Directions Questionnaire, they are just trying to keep you under pressure.
- Wait for your DQ from the CCBC, or download one from the internet, and then re-read post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread to find out exactly what to do with it.
0 - Sign it and date it.
