Morning everyone
Night shifts finished off to sleep for a few hours only the I should sleep tonight. Weekend off back Tuesday.
Hopefully get some chores done later, if it’s not raining want to do some gardening.
Speky - Happy Birthday
Redruby- well done on the weight loss. Are you following a specific diet or just healthy eating, I could do with losing about a stone.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care0 -
Morning all
It is a bit cooler today but not much. I don't know what today will bring.... I have lots to do but at the moment I cba. My list is as long as my arm and about as high as the clothes in my ironing basket  . The grass needs cutting as does the hedge, but I think there may be showers today. Excuses, excusesOh well I'm in butterfly mode and I'll flit around and probably end up doing nothing really constructive
. I can't get myself to be enthusiastic about anything and TBH I'm not even dressed yet
.
Mr Fix It is X-boxing with the DGS and apparently I've been volunteered to be the 3rd squaddie for a battle tonight. I'll run rings around them( probably in slow motion though :rotfl: )
Speky Happy Birthday :bdaycake: I hope you have a lovely day.
Gers a special hug for you my friend.
Scarlett I hope you can get the tap fixed, without paying a fortune.
Topsy enjoy your weekend off.
AOD I'm not feeding the birds now as I'm still being plagued by sparrows, hundreds of the devils and puting out the buffet would only encourage more . I even had to close the bedroom window yesterday afternoon as I was afraid they would get in as there were loads of them hanging off the house walls just below it.
Right I suppose I'd better get dressed and do something. Pardon ? Oh another coffee first ? Don't mind if I do :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good Friday
Take care

Morning all! Had breakfast, made breakfast, nurse has been for blood, discovered that father missed step.last night going to bed, I am very angry and will go for a shout in the garden when the breakfast is done with....I understand that he feels useless and it's like giving in but I'd rather not find him at the bottom of the stairs.
Apart from that, and the bin not being collected this week, everything is hunky dory. And I'll be driving back tonight and will check my plants and OH for watering and feeding
Happy Birthday Speky!! Woop woop, more successful spins around the sun ! Gers, know what you mean except mine is frustration with never knowing what to make when everything tastes horrible to hIm...nanny, don't bother, it's not worth it! Well done RR, wish I was as focused! Enjoy M&S food Jacky,I love a wander down their aisles...Hope you had a good day yesterday Holly...TA, shame about your windows......give him what for! Wotcha missings....Happy

Well chums I went into the smart refurbished M&S at the local Sava Centre and got talking (as you do ) to several ladies who like me thought 'Hmm its not just food its M&S food and its blooming expensive', now I know M&S is going t be a tad more expensive than Aldis or Lidl's or even MrT's but looking at the prices I could see how they could afford to have a fancy new food hall.
For example, they are making a great deal about cutting back on plastic wrapping ,good idea and they have some very up markets stalls with beautiful fruit and veg laid out.it looked delicious and very inviting.
Lots of stuff was in small cardboard punnets or you could pick what you wanted and use their brown paper bags to weigh and price them up in. Now the punnets were under a large sign that said 75p and in minute letters underneath it said per 100 gms , now even with those tiny baby tomatoes you are not going to get many for a 100 gms.
To look at quickly if your not careful you would think Oh a small punnet of tomatoes for 75p ,pretty reasonable
I am talking a small punnet here not a box ,so I asked one of the assistants was this per punnet or what ,she looked a bit embarrassed and said erm, erm, I will weigh one for you.
Off we went to find the scales to weigh them and low and behold the tiny punnet weight at just under 390 gms so if I hadn't spotted it on the sign I would have been charged at the till around £2.80 for about 9 small tomatoes.looking at the 'Market stalls' in the rest of the food hall I spotted a small head of broccoli at £1.90 and an awful lot of the piles of fruit and veg were priced up at per 100gms.
Now being an eagle eyed old woman to me I am a canny shopper, but to someone in a hurry or harassed by a couple of children or even perhaps not reading the signage properly its going to come as a shock when you go to buy stuff in there .
Talking to some of the customers most agreed that almost everything in the newly renovated food hall had risen quite dramatically in price, and I am not talking the odd few pennies but in the region of 50p upwards I usually like to have a treat now and again from the store and I had a couple of vouchers which
I could have used this morning but at their new prices I just couldn't warrant paying it .So nothing for Markies for me today . beware if you go into M& S and you see these new 'Food Market Stalls' as you could end up paying more than you expect to.
I saved my cash and came back to DDs without anything I don't mind the odd price rise, it's to be expected, but it was as though I was shopping in Harrods food hall Not Marks and Sparks in Hempstead Valley
Sitting quietly in front of the fan cooling down and I have stacked DDs dishwasher and will shortly make DGS Ben and Mikey some lunch, then its probably feet up and a bit of knitting

Not to be too political Jackie but get used to the price rises, it will only get worse if we leave the EU.0

Afternoon all
Happy birthday Speky.
Sympathy to those of you suffering extreme heat, not extreme here, there is a nice breeze which makes it very pleasant.......I watered the garden earlier, may need to donut again this evening as we have had no rain for several days.
We have steak for dinner so might fire up the BBQ and eat outside with just a nice salad to accompany steak
Enjoy the rest of your day.,..lots of water!

Hope you have a good day Speky :bdaycake::bdaycake:
Well done with your weight loss RR
A bit cooler today thank goodness but I stuck to shaded wooded areas when I walked the hound this morning. She got me up at 3.45 and wanted to go out,and wouldn't go on her bed after. She's taken to lying under the table next to the stone wall, but her metal collar kept clanging on the wooden floor.I stayed down hoping to entice her back to her bed, which she did eventually.By then it was 4 o clock and I couldn't be bothered going back up so just lay on the sofa & fell asleep but I feel woolly headed today.
Nipped into town this morning,I too went to marks for more salady bits, got a dress and some new knicks for DGD from primarni, and a top for me in debs sale. Was only in an hour and caught the next bus back.Looks like rain now,it's very grey. I really should do some housework but DGC are here in a bit so I'd be wasting my time ( thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it :rotfl:)
Hugs to the carers, take care of yourselves too.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0
