Well as you can get 1.5% elsewhere, its a cost of £37.50 extra per year.0

True - but are adding fee-free overseas spending.
I think I may have to re-think my relationship with NW going forwards and look to move on...
DisappointingI'll have to have a rethink too. We have a Nationwide Credit Card which already gives commission free spending... plus Revolut of course.
They just cut the instant access cash ISA rate to 1.10% as well0 -
Well theyve got to fund the ridiculous £200 a pop on "refer a friend " , plus that awuful ad with the dozy girl and her boyfriend. And I say this as someone who has benifited from RAF.0

I'll probably still keep it for our joint account - the travel insurance and mobile phone insurance for both of our recent-model iPhones would easily be more separately than the £13 a month we're paying to them. It's only a bills account anyway, so the 70p a month interest isn't really that big a deal.
Not sure what people expect really; avenues for profit are going down all over the banking industry.wiseonesomeofthetime wrote: »My decision was based on the interest received paying for half of the cost of the package.

As I am unlikely to use the Travel Insurance or Mobile Insurance any time soon, it looks like another rethink is required!
I'm a bit confused as to why you took out an account at £13 a month that you say yourself holds no real benefit to you... even if you do get it half off...urs sinserly,

How much were the phones - given that you're only covered for phones up to £1000 in value0 -

That and the mobile phone insurance. If they axe any of that I'll downgrade the account.0 -
I was considering this for a while but I can get most of the benefits elsewhere for about the same price as the monthly fees so the interest rate was the only thing that was making this worthwhile for me personally, not any more. Probably still worth it for a joint account however as both account holders would be covered for a single monthly fee.0

I'm keeping the account for now, but if they take away more benefits, I will probably downgrade to standard one. I was already unhappy when they took away extended warranty. I bought some goods in past and assumed extended warranty will work for them, but then they cut it.
Realistically, I will only use travel insurance.
I used roadside assistance once for classic car, because one that came with car insurance was useless. I don't think I will use it again, as all my cars are coming with assistance anyway.
I also used mobile insurance once, but phone had rather low value, maybe £150-200. And none of us have expensive phones.
So, good annual travel insurance will be cheaper than £156. I've been paying £80 with Aviva previously.0 -
Will probably be worth waiting to see what the other banks do first but the interest "offset" was one of the main reasons I chose this over others.0
