    Hi

Yes, you do miss it when you're away, don't you. I have a temperamental IPad that lets me read but won't let me post.

So glad you enjoyed your holiday and that you're back refreshed and ready to go. Compensation would make a huge difference. I claimed from German railways for a train delay earlier this year and it only took a couple of weeks to hit my bank account. Couldn't comment on holiday company, though.

Even though the debt totals aren't going down much yet the fact that you are now living within your means and you are in control is so liberating.

Good luck. I'm following your journey.

Thanks Tonis Friend! I hope you are well! Ive just spoken to the holiday company and my claim has now been logged, the lady said it takes up to 28 days to receive your money, but this one should be straight forward as they have admitted liability already. Will make such a huge difference, with the interest going up every day its just not moving down at all!

You are so right about living within my means, for the first time ever, i feel in control, i feel secure in knowing that im going to not live day by day anymore. Finding this forum is the best thing i have ever done in terms on money - may sound dramatic but its so true!

  • What a lovely start to the morning, email from Easy Jet saying that only im entitled to compensation despite the fact the law says it should cover my whole booking, per person. There are 3 people. So been waiting on their 'customer service' line for 40 mins now trying to sort it out. Need to try and keep my cool, but its a wonder they make things so difficult, especially after they left us stranded for a day! you would of thought they would of wanted to make this bit a bit easier - but apparently not haha.

I need to keep the end game in sight, and the £700 owed going off the loan - keep your fingers crossed for me!!

  • so just took a bit of a gamble. I have just over two weeks until payday. I saw on top cashback that they were doing an offer on muscle food. I have just ordered £69 worth, on a deal. Buy one hamper, get 2 free. resulting in 70 meals. Now with my meal prepping I think i can make this last nearly 2 months, which I was thinking was a good way to cut down my spending even more. However, Im feeling a bit funny now for spending so much! We will see if this pays off! At least ive tried it now and can see if its worth doing bi monthly for meat. Has anyone had any success with using muscle food in terms of keeping their food bill low?

Glad you had a good time away. Just checking - isn't 750 euros like £75 at most?

I think you are thinking Francs at about 10 to the pound

Euros are about 1.1 to the pound so €750 is about £680

Glad you had a good holiday and hopefully the compensation will be sorted soon. That would be a handy bonus and make a real dent in the debt figure.

  • Hey guys, yes it’s roughly £680 depending on the day obviously. I also have £60 worth of expenses due to taxis etc, but £40 needs to go back to my mum!

Glad you enjoyed your holiday and it would be a great boost if you got what you expect in compensation. Would make such a difference to get some of the loan paid off. You are doing so well at sticking to your budget but it is frustrating that most of your payments are just paying interest and not making any impact on the debt. Now that you have a small emergency fund I would throw all your extra money at that loan and try to get rid of it as quickly as you can. Even if you did this for a couple of months and then added a bit to your EF again, it would save you such a lot in interest. Good to have you back posting.
