Sounds like you are on track with everything which is great.as you say this is probably acting as a distraction for you at the moment. I always think this time between losing a loved one and the funeral is the worst.

You will have your holiday to focus on afterwards too. Maybe keep saving in a holiday fund for next year and you could do a few weekends away in the UK? You can get some very good value B and Bs in Devon, Somerset or my neck of the woods Cornwall ;)

Do you use sausages as well? Very versatile and cheap. Sausage and mash, pasta bakes, various kind of casseroles, toad in the hole, etc.

Hope everything goes well tomorrow or as well as it can do under the circumstances.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Thanks Tonisfriend, im just looking forward to it being over now, as awful as that sounds.

Yes we like a sausage. My only issue is getting cheap sausages that arnt full of fat! i loosely follow SW and calorie count, and its usually the expensive sausages that are low in fat! Thanks for the idea, im going to see what Aldi have to offer on the sausage front on Fridays food shop!

  • Spend update - Top up shop of £4.62. I have brought the Aldi 17p Diet Coke, going to see if i like it. If so that will be another swap from the 37p one. Small wins and all that!!

My sister owed me £5 which she transferred and this paid for the top up.

Ah Polruan I was there the other day as that is quite close to us and I did the coast path up to Gribben Head then the Ferry ride around the harbour.

We used to live in South London but we could not afford house prices there in a decent area.My husband was offered a job with his company down here in Cornwall 30 years ago so we moved when our youngest daughter was 1 year old. Never regretted it and yes it is a lovely part of the world but not that easy to get well paid work. We were lucky in that we had good jobs and my youngest daughter and son in law also have good jobs but my eldest daughter who has a fairly high flying career had to move up to Bristol to get more job opportunities. Better salary but also more expensive housing.

How do you feel about vegetarian/quorn sausages? They are lower in fat.

My vegan kids got some from Morrisons that were so tasty they thought they had meat in them. But they were not cheap cheap

I can't remember if you've said or not but do you have a Lidl nearby? They have some lovely sausages. Aldi might be just as good but I haven't looked in there (I've got Lidl and Aldi quite near to me. More than one of each too).

Will be thinking about you tomorrow.

  • Good Morning All

I hope you are all well and had a lovely weekend.

    UPDATE:

The funeral is over, it was a really sad day but it also is tinged with a sense of closure, which i think i needed. Thank you all for your kind well wishes.

Well its been a rather spendy weekend, but to be honest I sort of guessed it would be. Im not feeling too bad about it as I know that it was a one off, and i enjoyed spending time with family that i wouldn't normally get the chance to. Im waiting for someone to transfer £60 back to me that will go straight back into the EF, im just hoping they dont forget, I hate having to ask for money!

Shopping was good this week, managed to only spend £18. I still had the meat from the week before that i froze, so i only needed a few top up items. I have again meal planned for the week.

I managed to sell another ebay item, only £5, but better than nothing! I have a few more items to list this evening, so hopefully they will sell quickly too.

Im going to set myself a target of 4 NSD this week. Wish me luck!!

    10 days till payday
    EF - £98
