    Or...

https://www.eset.com. Download Eset Smart Security 30 day demo. Uninstall all the Anti-spyware, anti-virus and third party firewall stuff you've got on.

Install Esets' Smart Security Suite and run scans using that. It beats the pants off that free rubbish, finding more and integrating with Windows/internet apps/office better and is nowhere near as resource hungry as McAfee/Norton.

I deleted DAP totally from the PC using Ccleaner- BUT it was useful as it did accelerate download speeds - can you recommend something which is as good and spyware free?

Well done. You did a good job. The log isn't showing any signs of malware.

However, always remember …. HJT is creaking with age. It doesn't see all malware. Far from it. Malware can easily hide from HJT. You must keep a watch on your computer and report any unusual happenings.

So how is the computer operating now? Any more problems with scans reporting Trojans or other nasties?

I'm afraid I don't use download accelerators so can't comment there. However, you might like to start a new discussion topic in the forum on it. I have no doubt it will provoke much comment and advice from the wealth of knowledge of other members.

Now you are clean you might want to read these and bookmark the links for future reference.

If you are certain you have no more trouble you should clear out all old System Restore points then immediately create a new one so you have something to fall back on should anything go awry again. Also remember to make SR points on a regular basis.

    More on System Restore ...

What may have lead up to your infection and help keep your computer free of malware …

There is a little duplication/crossover but all these tutorials are well worth reading.

Make sure you only ever have ONE antivirus and ONE firewall in operation at any time and also make sure they are kept fully up to date.

Don’t forget to keep AVG Anti Spyware / Superantispyware updated and use it to scan/disinfect your computer from time to time.

If you do suffer an infection again you should run first Ccleaner to clean out your system.

If you run into more trouble run through the usual "sticky" procedure again before posting another HijackThis log.

    Safe surfing. :D
