Good morning everyone :hello:
It's very hot here too and I also have all the fans blowing trying to keep a bit cooler. I was up at 3am but went back to bed once Steve had got up at 5am and managed another couple of hours sleep. I have even had a wash and got changed so I feel a lot more comfortable.
My mental health worker came over yesterday but after he had gone I felt a bit perplexed. Apparently a social worker is coming to assess me for a care package but I don't know what this means and why I need one? Also there is no way to access psychology services as they insist you go to their office for treatment and will not consider phone or internet contact. Then he said to ring Crisis support if I needed to!! I actually feel quite well at the moment but it's obviously not coming across like that.
I was going to cook pork chops with mash and veg for dinner but I can't face that so will defrost some chicken and make enchiladas. The girls will have to go to Tesco to get some peppers though so I anticipate some moaning and groaning.
Hope you all manage to keep cool somehow and have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Good morning everyone!
Hugs to those who need them, happy birthday to those celebrating! :j
It is actually my birthday today and I didn't want to get up: too hot outside, too early and on top of all of that I'm sick as well. Sinusitis that's slowly turning into a bronchitis. :money:
I finished the book that I was talking about yesterday. A book closer to my reading goal for the year (still 10 behind). I'll start a new one soon and can't wait to see how it is and whether I like it :T
Other than that, not much planned.
Stay cool and please don't forget to drink your water today! :jweight loss journey: 3 KG / 8 KG

Morning all! Not a lot happened yesterday, food was eaten, I had to keep escaping outside, the fire is always on and I couldn't open the back door because a friendly neighbourhood cat has sprayed on the back door...and it stinks.
Today will be more of the same but today I think I might negotiate him sitting outside and sit in the sun for a bit while I deweed the garden a bit and tie up some flowers.
Also bought myself a pair of shorts that I intend to sew a few pretties on.
Happy birthday Butterfly! Have a great day! Rr,such a good idea,I have never even thought about that! AOD, so you keep your curtains shut and the windows open? That helps if there is a breeze, I could do with some shutters as well....and thicker walls. Speky, sounds horrible...Holly,sounds like you had a nice day yesterday! Dumpling, maybe they mean someone will come to make sure your are ok? Don't know...SO,stay cool! Wotcha peeps not posting, hope you're all ok!
Thumbs up Thursday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
dumpling, make sure you tell the social worker that you need a wet room.
It seems a bit breezier here than it was yesterday so hopefully it will be more bearable. The new dentist was very nice but of course he didn't have any treatment to do. I might ask him to replace one of my three remaining amalgam fillings with a white one to see how that goes.0 -
Morning all
I didn't have a good night as Mr Fix It was snoring for Wales and I was hot and bothered and then couldn't get comfortable. I feel (and look  ) like a member of "the walking dead" cast this morning and tonight it's apparently going to be another hot night. It's strange but we Brits always seem to complain about the weather, whatever it is ! ( well at least I do ). Too hot, too cold, too much rain or not enough :rotfl:
I have no plans for today other than sofa sitting. Having said that, Dad has been invited to tea so I need to cook a gammon joint, but I'll put it in the slow cooker and will do some oven chips in the halowave to go with it. Oh! and DD is calling in while she waits for Jasper to get his hair cut...... just heard that DGS is also going to get a short back and sides. I hope they are not going to the same barber :rotfl:.
Butterfly :bdaycake:Happy Birthday. But sorry you're feeling poorly, I hope you get well soon.
Hugs to all today. Keep cool all :snow_grin

Morning everyone
Holly - thanks for starting us off x
Sunny and very hot here.
Hugs to those that want/need one, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
DH and DS1 went off to work stupid early. I've been up early as someone's house alarm was going off woke me and then I couldn't get back to sleep. DS2 settled and ok.
Dinner last night was hot breaded chicken portions (for menfolk), pork pie, ham, cheese, boiled egg, skinny chips and coleslaw, I had side salad too and no chicken just everything else. Was lovely as didn't need to stand over a hot stove or have the oven on for too long. Tonight we'll have similar but hot quiche, ham, fresh prawns, boiled egg, pork pie, coleslaw, hot new potatoes and side salad for me.
I've already been into town to visit the building society and bank, market and the cheapy chemist, stopped off at cheapy SM and picked up the quiche and prawns, beer and some wine - not planning on leaving the house anymore as it's 32 degrees set to raise to 35 degrees this afternoon. I'm just pottering along doing little jobs and washing, I did strip our bed including the mattress protector and got that in the WM first thing this morning as it's quite thick and I thought it would take a while to line dry - but it's so hot it didn't take too long, so all the bedding has now been washed, line dried and I've just made it back up, so that job is done. The line is empty but I have a wash load in the machine as we speak that will get pegged out once it's finished. Whole house does need a hoover but it's too hot and tomorrow is due to be much cooler, so will do it then and also I need to do the ironing and clear out my computer desk ready for the new one to be delivered on Saturday - it's not brand new but new to me, the existing one has been damaged and DH has had a look and can't mend it, so it's going to be got rid of.
Keep safe and well x
Remember to drink loads, don't be out in the sun too long, and use plenty of suntan lotion x

Speky, we make all kinds of cards, for any and every occasion.
The others in the class make really lovely cards, as does our "leader". Mine aren't too bad, and I have made cards at home for birthdays, good luck, and a wedding.
I keep trying!!
Hope you don't fry in your office today0 -
Afternoon all.
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday to Butterfly - as always, I hope that there is plenty of cake.
The morning was busy with DM's cleaner coming. DM wanted some furniture moving which needed her bed moved first. It's so hot here that we were both dripping after that.
I've been shifting some of DM's stuff out of this bedroom so that I have more space. Under the bed is now hosting a load of stuff so I need to find room for some other things.
I'll not be going out today, no point in this heat. I prefer heat to be in traditionally hot countries!
Thoughts to those who are struggling - and a happy rest of Thursday to all.0
