I think the board guides do an excellent job. It is an unpaid position and in their sig they clearly state that they 'volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly'. The vast majority of members, particularly newbies, value their contribution and non-judgemental advice, support and guidance.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job

Some are cleay abusing their position however.
Deleting/amending their posts is not appropriate behaviour for a board guide.0 -
This particular guide had me banned for politely correcting them, and quoting the post where they admit bias.
They themselves seem proud of defaulting on multiple debts, and their advice is nearly always more about stiffing the banks and only rarely about helping the poster.
I’m here to genuinely help people, so will continue to politely point out their game when necessary.
Their fantasy about thugs above is par for the course.
A board guide who bans people for making them look foolish is not what this board needs.0 -

There is no pre-requisite for been a board guide, except the ability to give your time to others for free.
As for your post correcting my tiny error, thank you, I am aware what a CPA is, I edited my post accordingly, tiny errors do happen when you write as many responces as i do, so i thank you once again for, pointing that out to me.
You appear to be under the mis-aprehension that we boardguides weild some kind of power, well we dont, it clearly states in my signiture, "Board Guides are not moderators".

Please explain how i abuse power i do not have ?
What exactly is appropriate behaviour for a board guide in your opinion ?
If a post is deemed to be inflamatory, spam, or breaks the rules in some other way, it can be deleated, its all part of the board guide role.

Thanks all.
You clearly didn't know what a CPA was as you called it a Constant Payment Authority which it isn't. When I corrected you, rather than thanking me you deleted my post to cover your embarrassment and swiftly corrected your post.0 -
Here's another deleted post from sourcrates. I was not sanctioned BTW so you are wrong yet again.sourcrates wrote: »There is no pre-requisite for been a board guide, except the ability to give your time to others for free.
My advice was wrong was it, well then, i`m no better than you then am I.
As for your post correcting my tiny error, you need to grow up poster.

Who says i must have a balanced view ? ? ?
My thoughts and views are my own, no one elses.
So for the avoidence of doubt, yes i dislike banks, yes i dislike debt collectors, yes i dislike bailiffs, and i also dislike anyone else that makes peoples lives harder than they ought to be.
That clear enough for you, in my world, that is called, having an opinion, it may differ to yours, but i don`t berate you for that, but because i`m a boardguide, you seem to feel i am an easy target, well fire away boys, while your shooting me down, your leaving some other poor soul alone.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Are you bored or something ??
Constant/continuous define the difference to me foxtrotoscar ?
I`ll do it for you then :
As adjectives the difference between constant and continuous
is that constant is unchanged through time or space, ie permanent, while continuous is without break, cessation, or interruption; without intervening time.
In the situation here the difference is minimal to say the least, as is my embarresment at such a glaring error.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
