what do I REALLY need for my home?

I was thinking about rails initially,I’ll check out the facebay for second hand ones and tbh I will probably get a second hand sofa to see us through if one comes up cheap enough.
I bought this really heavy duty clothes rail from Argos a couple of years ago, when my wardrobe collapsed. It's stood up to a lot of abuse and, unlike cheaper models, hasn't sagged or broken under the strain of a full wardrobe of clothes.
HTH. Good luck with your move and with settling into your new home.

I always think British Heart Foundation is over priced. We have an Emmaus which is much better - I'm not sure they're all over but you might have something similar if there isn't one near you. Or Ikea!0

Definitely look on Freecycle or Freegle, whichever you have in your area. Also the local Facebay local selling pages. Lots of stuff comes up free or very cheaply.0

You do not need a microwave!
Good luck with cooking for 9 people with 1 microwave.0 -

A bin! I can also really recommend a bedside light so that you're not stumbling around in the dark trying to find a light switch.0

Have you come across pillow beds ?
If you google it will show images. Basically join three or four pillow cases together using a sewing machine then pop the pillows in and various arrangements make seating or temporary beds, great fun for kids and may make do until you get proper settee etc.
You just need to get handy with a sewing machine or find a helpful friend who could run some up. Wouldn't take long at all.Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20 -

Look on Facebook, most places have a 'free' selling pages, there are always sofas being given away free on our local ones. Do try and be as helpful as you can for collecting stuff though, I'm giving away some bits at the moment and some people are driving me mad messing me about even though they would be getting good quality items for nothing, I just need the space.

You seem to have the esentials covered. TV and comfy chairs/sofas can wait.
With 8 children, my priority would be a big dining table that everyone can sit round at the same time. Yes it will take space, but it will also glue your family together so is worth doing.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
