Domestic Cleaners

I didn't know anyone who could recommend. Tried a few cleaners but never managed to find the 'treasure' that I needed. In the end went with a franchise. More expensive but so much more reliable, and they even bring their own equipment and cleaning materials.0

I had a cleaner when I was working. I paid the same rate as the council did to our school cleaners.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

I am a self employed cleaner,I have been doing it for 28 years now.
One job I have had for 28 years and a lot of other ones for over 10.
It’s very rare for me to lose a job,it’s usually if someone moves or passes away.
I have started a lot of jobs when someone is ill and they say it’s just until their better and 5 years later I’m still there,
I don’t advertise it’s all word of mouth. My jobs supply all cleaning stuff and equipment,I charge £12 an hour.
I do whatever the client wants, some just want the kitchen and bathrooms cleaned.I usually find that when you build up trust they tend to relax a bit.I go into what I call auto pilot and don’t notice a lot of things, someone will say do you like the new whatever they have purchased and nine times out of ten I haven’t noticed it.
I average about 7 jobs a day, once you find the right cleaner you won’t let him/her go.
Good luck0 -

Can I ask pls, do they bring all their own stuff or use yours?
.
Sorry I didn't come back to this, but there were a couple of questions.
He brings his own stuff.
We have three or four hours a week, depending on what needs doing. Four usually involves changing all the beds. Four bed, two bathroom house with five full time residents and two dogs!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I have a cleaner. My husband isn't keen on people in the house either and usually pop's out into garden or shed after saying hello and letting them in.
Usually I am home. I'm poorly and often they do the bedroom first so i can go back to bed. Only when i know them well do they get given the code to the keysafe and come when i'm out.
I look at local facebook cleaning pages and then read what ever is public on personal profile.. reviews and go by 'gut instinct'. They ahve to be properly registered and insured.
Prices here range from £8-16p/h more for an agency, the lower values seem to be cash in hand without insurance. I can only pay £12p/h but often there is room to negotiate.
I ask them to if there is something specific i would like help with but mostly try to keep out of their way. They use my cleaning stuff although my new lady brings a pile of cloths that she uses (we have plenty but its her preference) and another lady (left for maternity leave) came with limescale remover as we have hard water.0
