Can anyone point me in the direction of a cheap Coaxial Cable Tester?
I have 4 sockets and a bunch of cables in the loft so just want to know which one goes where.
Don't mind cheap and cheerful from China.
Cheers

Sounds like a torch bulb, battery and a couple of lengths of wire would serve your need.0

Hi,
why not trial and error, plug in at telly, then try each socket, when you get a pic then move on, try another outlet and socket.0 -
If you don't mind spending nearly nine pounds

A cheap multimeter with a <continuity test> function will be a good investment (and have other uses in the future). https://cpc.farnell.com/velleman-instruments/in07799/digital-multimeter/dp/IN07799?st=multimeter is an example.
Many others are available.
You short one cable in loft at a time (join inner core to outer screen) then use the resistance/continuity test sounder range to probe the four room sockets one at a time until you find which one is 'shorted' when the sounder operates.
Mark and label the cable in loft, remove the short and proceed to the next cable in turn. :T
1 in 4 chance of getting the room right first time. Then 1 in 3. Then 1 in 2. Last room should be a certainty :beer:0
