    I stand corrected, my apologies

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

Haha - and long may the heat continue; especially if I don't end up making it to hotter climes :)

And no need to apologise, I appreciate you taking the time to give your input and help.

I certainly would not be panicking (I'm also flying 6 Aug). Hopefully a settlement will be made and industrial action called off.

Still feeling calm or has more worry crept in since we last spoke?

By all accounts we might get some news tomorrow...

    Waiting game .

As we know there is often a lot of sabre rattling on both sides in the lead up the called days of strike action with often progress only made in the days/hours before the action is due to start.

I'm calm about it. I have looked at back up plans (ex LGW) and ready to pounce on those if necessary or will defer travel. As my Nan used to say - worse things happen at sea....

For others reading this thread and concerned about the threat of strikes at Heathrow, latest news can be found on the airport website -

The British Airline Pilots Association (Balpa) union have stated that by law they need to provide 14 days notice of proposed strike action, so I imagine any flights up to 15th August would currently be free from disruption.

Thanks but this is about the Heathrow staff striking, not the BA pilots

    That's another labour dispute.

    Currently simmering are:-

    1. British Airways flight deck
    2. Heathrow Airport Ltd workers
    3. Easyjet's ground handling agent at Stansted (Stobart)

I think the British Airways cabin crew dispute with Mixed Fleet and Gatwick crews has just recently be settled.

We just need the annual French ATC strikes and we should have it all covered.

“We are offering customers who are travelling on one of our shorthaul services over the proposed period the option to rebook on alternative dates, or to travel from alternative London Airports.”

If you are booked to travel on a British Airways operated shorthaul flight from London Heathrow on 5 or 6 August, you can rebook onto an alternative British Airways operated flight in the same cabin.

You can rebook to travel from:

London Heathrow (LHR) on any available dates between 1 and 12 August 2019, excluding 5 or 6 August.

London Gatwick (LGW) or London City (LCY) on any available dates between 1 and 12 August 2019.”
