Saying flight is cancelled, but its not??

Hi, I have flights booked for Friday travelling from

London city - Milan - Rome - Tokyo

The Milan - Rome flight changed last month as it was cancelled, so they sorted out the same flight but different time, which was fine.

Last night I got another email saying that the flights have now been cancelled and I am now flying on Saturday from

Heathrow - Milan - Tokyo

So I have lost a day and lost the overnight hotel booked at London City Airport, travelling up from the south west also lost my train ticket cost of £55, and one night hotel booked in Toyko.

Ive looked on line and my original flight from Rome - Tokyo is not cancelled but still live and saying its scheduled??

They are insisting its cancelled.

I think they have bumped me off, only last week I received an email asking if I would like to upgrade on that flight, I didn't.

Do I have any comeback with this, as I think they have overbooked the flight and because I booked it in April at a cheap price to what they are selling for now, they have bumped me off??

Thanks.

Did you book direct with Alitalia, or is the truth you booked through an agent? It sounds to me as though the agent never issued the ticket and is now trying to protect themselves, worth a call to Alitalia to see the state of your reservation and whether it shows the ticket has been issued at all. Their telephone number is 03335 665544

You won't be bumped from an overbooked flight several days out. Check for suitable options on Friday and request to eDreams that you're moved to one. Unfortunately eDreams is one of worst 3rd party sites out there.

Why do people persist in booking flights through agents? It only ever causes problems!

Ive booked many times through agents because of the cost. This is the first and last time I will use e dreams though.

By going through the agent it saved almost £400, which couldnt be turned down.

With hotels, rail tickets and other costs, that is turning out to be an expensive £400.
