Anyway, for anyone else is a similar spot:1. Confirm your readings after your second submission to ensure the meter reads correctly.2. If you're on a low tariff, expect a debit towards the end of your year
Glad it's all sorted, you've just proved your human and reading those meters is a bit of a black art. Apologies if earlier replies were a bit terse but the original message was a bit shouty!
I just wanted to pick up on point 2, above. It's not true that if you're on low a tariff you should expect a debit towards the end of your year. The only reason you end up with a debit is if your actual consumption proves to be more than what was given/guessed/estimated when you signed up. And the "low-ness" has nothing to do with it - you can end up with a debit on any tariff.
Your situation highlights a major flaw in the way we sign up for energy - "could you just tell me how much energy you will have used a year from now and I'll set up an appropriate direct debit"......0 -
My only issue with Avro is that they are hoarding my money. I am currently £250 in credit and they are reluctant to reduce this amount. When I pointed out that according to their own estimate of my usage, I am paying substantially more than is necessary, they responded by hiking my "estimated" annual usage by 1000+kwh. Just the slightest hint of sharp practise here. I for one will be watching them very carefully.0
