Virgin reduced package costs

I recently received notification that my full broadband, phone and TV package was increasing to over £160 per month. I phoned Virgin and have been switched to their VIP package and £99 per month with increased broadband speed to 500 mb. If you are on Virgin phone to reduce costs, they will not tell you that you can reduce costs. The energy companies must tell customers if their is a cheaper deal why not broadband?

I don't understand on which criteria Virgin Broadband Oomph Upgrades are awarded. Can anyone tell me? Loyal customers don't qualify for new deals (e.g £19 for 100mbps incl. line rental), but surely the term "Upgrade" infers that these deals are for existing customers. However, I have been trying for a week to get in touch with Virgin, including lodging a complaint, to request an Upgrade to either the 100 mbps Oomph at £33 per month or the 200 mbps Oomph at £38 per month. Either of these would constitute a payment reduction on what I'm currently paying. I'm blocked at every turn. Any suggestions?

Hi,
yesterday was very frustrating and wasted around 3 hours being put through to different people and then being left with music. This morning all sorted very easy. Now on 5oombps!
I feel your pain in getting this sorted! Customer service very poor.
