Mobile Phone insurance refund
I recently received a letter from an insurance company, informing me that they were unable to receive their monthly premium from my bank account. I phoned them up to find out who they were and realised that they were the insurance company that coverd my phone when I was with tmobile. I cancelled my contract with tmobile a year plus (march 2006).
I asked them to cancel the policy and to give me a refund on the premiums I had paid since the cancellation of my contract with tmobile ( as the policy came with my contract with tmobile). They said they could not do this as i should have cancelled the policy with them, when i cancelled my contract with tmobile according to their terms and conditions. I don't see why i can't get my money back as i am no longer using the phone and no longer under contract with tmobile and they have been collecting money from my account. I have a contract with 02 and insurance with anew phone since march 2006.
Am I entitled to my money back? please reply

As you did not cancel this policy, you have had insurance since March 2006. You can't get money refunded for this period, as they were providing cover. Insurance is optional, not compulsory. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Agree with espresso. Though you took out the insurance at the same time as your T Mobile contract, they were not part of the same contract per se.Gone ... or have I?0

as above. you should have canceled it, it's through a seperate company to t-mobile. why did you not notice the money being debited for over a year?
It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

On my bank statements it said 'homecare insurance' so i thought it was insurance for my appliances0

ah well. sorry, just make sure you cancel the direct debit so they can't take any more money off you.
