Plusnet to Vodafone

Hi all,
Currently on a contract with Plusnet and monthly fee is £34 for unlimited broadband, land-line and eve/weekend calls
Our land-line hasn't worked or accepted calls since pre Christmas, not been an issue as such as we never use it but our contract is ending soon and we're looking at alternatives.
We can get Vodafone for £21 a month, unlimited broadband and same speed without any calls plus cashback and a free amazon echo so I think that may be who we go for.
I've not changed broadband providers since we moved into our home 6 years ago and have a few questions!
If we switch to Vodafone, or potentially another provider, is it relatively easy?
How long do we risk being offline? I work from home some days and have a teenager who can't cope without WiFi so this would be a deal breaker.
When we moved into our house it took about 6 weeks to get WiFi through plusnet and was a nightmare so I've been reluctant to change it. I have managed to get them to match new customer prices in the past instead of switching but when you factor in cashback and extras it seems silly not to consider switching at least.

Yes gaining provider handles all .<
As its OpenReach that carryout the change for all anything from 5 mins to a couple of days . But usually less than a couple of hours .
Wifi comes from the router . BB goes into the router and Ethernet and WiFi come out .
Your landline is working as it supplies your broadband .Probable broken connection indoors .0 -
Thank you for the reply.
So worst case it might be a couple of days without? I'm sure we could manage that, I just didn't want it stretching into weeks or anything.
Yes the line originally stopped and we had no WiFi, they came and did something and we got the Internet back but the day after we couldn't make or revive calls and its been that way ever since. I've called once or twice but always on hold for ages and keep meaning to sort it but never get round to it as its not causing an issue, other than paying for something we don't get.Lea0 -
If you have a fault on the line that might take a bit longer to sort out.
There may be cabling to be replaced for example.
When that happened to me I ended up tethering with my phone to get my computer connected to the internet.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -

Don’t do,it!
Been with Vodafone for 18 months, totally fed up with broadband dropping out,
They may be cheap, but service is rubbish, I’m going back to sky.0 -

I'm on Plusnet and tried to switch to Vodaphone a couple of weeks ago. Went through the whole rigmarole of signing up online, then, at the very last page a message pops up and says unable to switch you. Called them up and the liars at Vodaphone said the deal/promotion was no longer available but they could still accept me without the voucher. What a bunch of scammers.0
