And have you provided your 'tracking' which is your proof of delivery?

If you are sending items without POD then you need to wait the prescribed time for Paypal to release the funds.

    Ebay don't hold your funds.

what %loody tracking , what do you think this posting is asking help on

royal mail proof of posting does not contain any numbers and is not acceptable as proof of posting or tracking to ebay

I am trying to find a simple and economical way of adding proof or delivery , or even a tracking number in order to fulfill the 21 day hold

Ebay don't physically hold funds. The funds never go anywhere near ebay. A buyer pays a seller with Paypal.

It may well be that eBay have used the Paypal 21 day hold. The funds are held by Paypal.

If you want the funds released then you need to provide a POD, it's very simple. If you don't provide a POD you need to wait until the funds are released. Once you have better standing with Paypal you won't be subject to the hold.

do we are back to the jiffy bag in a cardboard box , sent as a small parcel , with signature

not a very economical way of sending a small low value item

No you won't get a signature, just online delivery confirmation, which is acceptable in eBay and Paypal terms as "tracking".

Are there any options within your Paypal account to provide additional verification?

The more Paypal know about you the less likely they will hold small sums of money.

The problem with charging an extra £3.40 is either it will be too expensive and you'll lose sales or if not then your items were £3.40 too cheap to begin with and that money is better off in your pocket than Royal Mail's.

I understand the holds are frustrating but you mention small sums of money so is the 3 week hold that much of a problem?

  • DISPATCH QUICKLY AND USE EBAY LABELS FOR FAST ACCESS TO YOUR FUNDS
Typically you will get access to your funds within 21 days, and possibly even sooner:

If you print postage labels through eBay or PayPal or use another carrier who provides tracking information and manually enter delivery tracking information on eBay funds will be available three days after the latest estimated delivery date.
If you mark the item as dispatched but don’t upload tracking information, funds should be available seven days after your latest estimated delivery date.
If you don’t provide tracking information or mark the item as dispatched, funds will be available in 21 days.

I may well be reading it wrong but the above sounds like as long as you mark the item as dispatched on eBay, you shouldn't be waiting the full 21 days? Only 7 days after the delivery date?
  • On a small parcel you would get a signature if you used the signed for service.

Sending it as a normal first class or second class parcel will provide you with a delivery confirmation number for you to be able to see when it’s been delivered.

The hold is frustrating, the more you sell with positive feedback the more history you have and funds will not get restricted.
