It’s reported in case you get offered a credit facility.

For the ones marked with “?” just ask the catalogue company to update the CRA’s accordingly.

ah ok thanks. So is it good bad or makes no difference to me or my credit report?

In other words shall i ask them to remove it or leave it on
  • Makes no difference.

Removing it would mean closing your account altogether.

My wife had a vodafone sim only contract that finished and was all up to date and paid on time, we cancelled the contract and thought nothing more of it, about 12 mths later i checked the credit reports and vodafone had carried on marking the payments in green even though we had cancelled and no payments were taken, 8 months of green markers and then 4 months of red, we had to contact vodafone to get them to remove the markers which they did, i would get the accounts removed if they are not active.
  • According to some of the CRAs, I have 5 accounts, (2 credit cards and 3 bank accounts). They don't report my gas, phone, water or electricity. I have no idea why not.

1 current account (Halifax. I also have an account with Nationwide, although the Nationwide one is not reported anywhere no idea why not)

Hoe old is the Nationwide account?

I think it started off as a different account and changed to a Flexaccount when I was 16 or 18 (could be totally wrong about that though!)

Im 36 now so its a lot of years old :)
  • It depends how long ago it was opened i.e. if it was before they reported to the CRA's

You can ask them to start reporting it if you wish

I try to keep the number as low as possible, but I still have 10 accounts listed across different CRAs. MSE and Credit Karma list 9 of them. Clearscore lists all 10.

    Current accounts 3***
    Credit cards 2
    Mortgages 1
    Utilities 3 (gas, electricity, water)
    Telecoms 1 (mobile phone)

    No loans.

***soon to be 2, as I will close one when promotional interest rate drops from 5% to 1%.
