How Many Credit Accounts (Active) Do you have? Is there such thing as too many or not enough?

Just a curiosity question rather then anything else? I realise payment history etc effect your credit report but what about active accounts. Is having too many good or bad? Or is this irrelevant?
Credit accounts could mean anything from utility to mobile phone contracts, loans, finance, etc
I have 21 active accounts all together.
How about everyone else?

I actually applied for a catalogue account a few months ago with JD Williams. At the time i applied for all their sister companies to i.e ambrose wilson etc. I was accepted by JD williams for £150 credit and rejected by the rest. But ive noticed the others still report green dots to my name each month on my credit file even though it says 0 next to available credit and how much credit i am allowed
Is that a good or bad thing?0 -
If those were rejected, those should not appear as accounts, get them removed.0

i was thinking of getting them removed but as far as i can see on my report they report green dots each month so surley its better leaving them on. Its having a positive impact.0

Not sure if it's positive with a zero limit, others will comment.0

I have two Barclay Card Visa and Mastercard, and a M&S card.
Along with my bank debit cards, I really don't need anymore0 -

That is a good point. I have been accepted by vodafone and virgin phones whilst having them on. So not sure - Can anyone else comment if you know about this?

Just double checked my report and it does not mention anything to do with credit or available credit. My mistake. All it shows is every month the balance is zero and green dots next to it?
Should i leave it on?
Another one of those catelgoues show ? ? ? every month
On Equifax however it does show balance and credit limit as both 00 -
It’s reported in case you get offered a credit facility.
For the ones marked with “?” just ask the catalogue company to update the CRA’s accordingly.0
