Does any car breakdown service cover keys locked in car?

Recently my sister opened her car door, picked up her shopping to put inside the car and the wind slammed the door shut and for some reason, the central locking activated, with the keys now locked inside. She has no idea why the locks activated. Meanwhile her spare was with her son who had borrowed the car at the weekend and omitted to return the key.
She phoned Britannia Rescue (she has top package) who told her that keys locked in the car are not covered. Their agent would try to recover them but if not they would call a locksmith who would charge. They said there was currently around a two hour delay for agents in her area. Fortunately she was able to contact her son who came out to rescue her with the spares, but it seems that vehicle recovery services do not cover locked in car keys.
Are there any that do? And are there any other exclusions common to vehicle recovery services?.

I wouldn't have even called, it's not a breakdown and would have assumed it's not covered!0

You make it sound like locking keys in the car is the norm, there was a spare key available so it's not really a callout scene, my 1999 Golf wouldn't let you lock the key in the car.
It does seem odd that your sister had that situation of locking the key in the car.0 -

The breakdown services all differ on issues like this. IIRC, my RAC membership didn't cover lost/misplaced keys at all (unless you paid for the extra lost keys package) whereas with Green Flag it is all covered with normal membership. Presumably keys lost/stolen/locked in car will all be treated differently according to the whim of the providers. The only way to find out would be to ask, or to read the various websites very carefully. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0

RAC come out for locked-in keys. Seen it in my road and my daughter recently called them out to 'break-in' to her car to recover keys in the boot.
I can't imagine AutoAid would do that.0 -
RAC or AA ( can’t remember which one)have been out to me for keys locked in car, they used small air bag to prise top of door open and unlock doors from inside0

Start Rescue did the same for me via a local agent recently.
And although they will be at home, Lidl were selling the small air bags a few week later so I purchased two. Hopeful they won't be needed though.0 -
Breakdown services cover breakdowns not acts of stupidity.0
