My micro SD card has been corrupted and I have lost all my data. I have established it is corrupted but I don't know how. The micro SD card is not recognised on my tablet or on my F drive on my PC. I have tried running Recuva but that says it needs reformatting which as far I can understand it would mean I would lose all my data. i have tried a recovery programme Ease US that has identified the files but then I have to register and pay a fee to hopefully recover.I believe this is the case with many other recovery programmes. It is just music on my micro Sandisk SD card which contained about 1500 songs. Is there a free download that includes recover not just a scan to identify please. I will my most grateful for any help or advise.

Maybe easier to download the songs again. Always backup anything you dont want to lose.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

If it's just music, no mission-critical data, then just reformat the card and load the music onto it again0

The problem I have is that stupidly I did not back up my music on my Samsung micro SD card. I know it can be recovered but it seems you can scan free but not recover without purchasing a license from the company undertaking the scan. I have scanned mine and is shows all my music in the appropriate drive but i have to purchase a license to recover it I have heard that there is a free limited recovery programme which should cover my music. However I have been unable to establish which recovery programme will do this free. Reformatting the micro SD card will mean I will lose all my music data so this is not a option. can anybody advise me which is the free recovery programme I should use. I never realised a SD card could be corrupted especially as mine was working perfectly for months until it stopped being recognised.0

The problem we have is that we don't know if you are a new user with a different problem, or the OP posting under a different user name.0 -
How did you get the music onto the card in the first place? By ripping CDs? By downloading?0

There is good free data recovery software out there, try Photorec https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Download it can recover a wide range of media files.0

The instructions are within the link in post #8
Right click on the application named qphotorec and choose Run As Administrator0 -
Yes the download did also go in my zip file. From that file I then somehow I managed to download the evaluation version. It ran for an eternity but the good news was it identified my lost files. The bad news was to recover the items I had to purchase a license. So now I must look for the free version to download to recover my music without any cost. Why does it go into my zip file and exactly what am I looking for to identify the free recovery version. It may seem simple to some but unfortunately not for me. So any further advise will be welcomed with open arms.0
