That is fine if you intend to move away again.

Problems occur if you try to do a deal.

As others have mentioned the Virgin solution and everyone else's solution use completely different networks, which make switching from one to the other complicated.
I am a long time TalkTalk (and Tiscali before them) customer, and I support the suggestion that you call them and speak to their "Loyalty Team". Have a firm plan as to what you want to achieve, by looking at what deals they are offering new customers, be willing to commit to an 18 month minimum term and you should do quite well. I'm paying them £42 per month for medium fibre, but £12.50 of that is for TV service, and £2 is for anti-virus, so you should be able to get a much better deal.
