VCS County Court Cases

I’ve received a Small Claims Directions Questionnaire (Form N180) recently regarding a PCN that was generated in July 2015 by VCS. I take it that I shall get my day in court? I should appreciate any advice that anyone can give me. Thanks

Comprehensive guidance on how to answer every question on that DQ is available in Bargepole's 'what happens when' post linked from post #2 of the NEWBIES thread.

Are we to assume that you have also received a LBA/LBC/LBCC followed by court papers, submitted the AoS and written and submitted a defence?

Yes. I submitted my defence to CCBC but this was what I received in response.

If the N180 came form VCS, then ignore it.
If it came from the court, then you need to fill it in as per the guide to court mentioned above by KeithP.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Can you show us your defence, word for word, so we know what to build on later?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
